POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The Milwaukee Brewers swept the defending back to back MLB Champs Los Angeles Dodgers to advance to their first World Series since 1982. Outside of LA, the rest of baseball was rooting for the underdog Brewers. The Brew Crew were led on the mound by Aaron Ashby, who closed the game with a 9 out save to win game four. Did you know Ashby almost spent a summer at Phil Welch, playing for the St. Joseph Mustangs?

Johnny Coy was hired as the Mustangs Manager in 2018, taking over the reigns from Matt Johnson, after a very successful playing career of his own. The first player to commit to Mustangs under Johnny was Ashby.

Ashby graduated from Park Hill High School, had a highly successful season at Crowder College, and signed with SEC power Tennessee. He never made it to the Mustangs or Tennessee, as he was drafted in the 4th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Brewers. Ashby has continued his success; Aaron had a 13-3 regular season in 2026 and is already a Brewer legend. Aarons uncle is quite talented as well, former MLB pitcher Andy Ashby.

If Cleveland makes the World Series, there will be strong Mustangs connections on both sides. Former Mustangs dot the Cleveland Guardians; former player Grant Fink serves as the Guardians hitting coach, former player Chaz Verduzco coaches in the minor leagues, and former staff Trevor Madison is a data scientist in the front office for the MLB team.

When you walk into the gates of Phil Welch Stadium for a Mustangs game, you might be watching a future MLB star. We can't wait to see who Coy brings in for the 2027 St. Joseph Mustangs roster! by @stjoemustangs

Mustangs Nation is well represented in the MLB playoffs.

Trevor Madison is a Data Scientist for Cleveland Guardians and Chaz Verduzco coaches for Cleveland’s Arizona Complex League.

Trevor is a North Andrew graduate, and Chaz graduated from Benton. Both spent summers with the Mustangs, Trevor on the coaching staff and Chaz as a player. Another Cleveland connection is former Mustangs player Grant Fink, who serves as the Guardians Hitting Coach.

Big time dreams can start at Phil Welch stadium for players, interns, coaches, and fans. We’re excited to watch what both Trevor and Chaz will continue to accomplish. by @stjoemustangs

Mustangs interns move on to BIG things!

Clayton Anderson was a 2016 Mustangs intern, and has gone on to a successful career in media.

Before the finale of the popular reality tv show, Big Brother, airs on CBS tonight, Clayton was able to interview host Julie Chen Moonves. Clayton did a wonderful job in St. Joseph and we love to see him continue to be successful.

We are hiring spring and summer 2027 interns in all departments and majors now!
If you or someone you know is interested, send us a dm or email kyturner@stjoemustangs.com. This might be the start of a great career for you too! by @stjoemustangs

St. Joe already knows- this is a special place in all of the world for baseball. You see it with the people in the stands, and you see it with the talent on the field.

Browne, Wright, Luikart, Cameron, Coy, Book, Little, McFadden, Hook, Maple, Thrasher, Kastner, Musser-the list of talented baseball players from the St. Joseph area goes on and on.

Congratulations to all of the recent area high school baseball players who are taking the next step in their baseball careers! by @stjoemustangs
