It’s been a calm weekend.. started with a coffee with my friend first thing Saturday and then a few days of getting the cottage sorted and cleaned.

It always appears calm on here but it’s actually a very busy home with a large family.

It feels still and peaceful tonight tho and ready for a new week. Anyone else always light a candle when they have finished cleaning?

Hope you all had a lovely weekend x taken in Austrey, Warwickshire by @stjosephscottage

Country cottages don’t always have to be chintz and florals.

AD

It was time to give this bedroom a transformation and as its home to my teenage son, my usual pastels and stripes just wasn’t going to cut it.

He wanted something classy and elegant like a clubhouse at a golf club but warm and cosy. The tartan was a must and this beautiful bed from @happybeds was perfect, the dark wood and luxurious fabric headboard made everything feel very masculine.

I love that it’s raised up off the floor enough to vacuum right under it, and it fits plenty of extra storage.

There’s 5 of us so it’s rare i find something everyone likes but I pretty much swing between variations of these.

Let me know if any are your go to family dinners or is there something you really don’t like? taken in Atherstone, Warwickshire by @stjosephscottage

Sorry but not sorry!

It’s already feeling so cosy at the cottage, the dinners are slow cooked and the mornings are dark.

Is it going to be all bows again this Christmas?? taken in Austrey, Warwickshire by @stjosephscottage

It’s a day of new beginnings here. Everyone starting on their new chapters, it’s the first time the cottage has felt quiet for months after the busiest of summers. by @stjosephscottage

AD You all know how much I love being in my kitchen garden and I thought she deserved a bit of a girly makeover.

I’ve given the shed a fresh coat of paint with the @bandq_uk Good Homes Garden Paint in the colour Porto Alegre which has won the Ideal Home Award 2026.

A few comfy chairs for me to admire my work and some fresh pots of flowers. It feels like a real sanctuary now 🌷 taken in Atherstone, Warwickshire by @stjosephscottage
