Along with being tied for the Top Private Regional University in the West… Here are three MORE top-10 distinctions for Saint Mary’s!

In the 2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, SMC ranks among regional universities in the West as:

⭐ No. 3 (tie) overall
⭐ No. 8 for Best Value
⭐ No. 10 for Best Colleges for Veterans

These honors recognize the quality of a Saint Mary’s education, our commitment to making it accessible, and our support for veterans and active-duty service members pursuing their academic goals.

A little throwback to this January, when Mahershala Ali ’96 returned to campus for a full day with students, including with High Potential students and the Black Student Union.

Mahershala told these young Gaels “how important you are, for the campus and the culture of the school.”

We’re proud to call this two-time Oscar winner a Gael. Wishing Mahershala all the best as his new film, “Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother,” releases tomorrow. 🎬

Saint Mary’s is tied for the top spot in the 2027 US News & World Report rankings—the highest recognition yet for the College by US News.
SMC also earned three more distinctions among regional universities in the West:

Sing, o muse, of one of the biggest blockbusters of the summer 🌊 🎬!

🎥 The College Tour is filming at Saint Mary’s this Friday!

They’ll be stopping by Chapel Lawn at 11 a.m. to capture what campus life looks like at SMC. If you’re around, grab some friends, bring a Frisbee, football, or whatever you’d normally take out to the lawn, and come hang out.

In keeping with a long tradition dating from the founding of European universities during the Middle Ages, Saint Mary’s College celebrates the Mass of the Holy Spirit. All are encouraged to join in this special liturgy to bless our entire community at the beginning of another academic year together.
Friday, September 18th at 1:30pm in the Chapel with reception to follow on the Chapel Plaza.
