25 years ago today I was probably sleeping peacefully. As one of the first to be born that year. My parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many other friends/ family members all remember this day. September 11, 2001 🇺🇸. A very sad day for them and just another day for me.
Growing up my Gammy (grandmother) lived in New York, so I got to visit the Empire State of New York quite often. Seeing this beautiful city year after year was a blessing. Being with family truly made the city glow. So many strangers, so much to look at, and so many destinations to plan for and many that you and I will never get to experience.
What so many Americans experienced that day was not the big city dream, the I made it moment, the big dreams that they chased for a life time. It was a nightmare. Looking back on this picture of me and my family at Ground Zero reminded me of all those who cannot stand with theirs.
Remember those that we lost. Stand for something good today. If I haven’t seen you in a while, I love you. 🤟 taken in Ground Zero by @stone_chasers
