Horror movie tattoos are just too fun to do. So happy with the start of this horror movie themed full sleeve. Leather Face from Texas Chainsaw Massacre is definitely a classic icon that needed to be added to this tattoo.

Edward and Alphonse Elric tattoo on the bicep. Finished in one session! Couldn’t tell you how long it took because I did it like 7 months ago LOL. If I had to guess, maybe around 8-9 hours? Who knows? That’s between me, my client, and God now 😂🙏

#anime #animetattoo #fullmetalalchemistbrotherhood #fma * Top: Alphonse Elric dominates the upper arm. His armor is rendered in black and grey with crisp metallic reflections, scratches, and smooth shading that give the steel convincing volume. His arm extends diagonally across the composition, creating movement and separating the upper and lower sections.
* Center: Behind Alphonse is a large red graphic element with black negative space, giving the tattoo a modern, poster-like backdrop. To the right sits the Flamel symbol, executed in saturated red over a black fill, acting as the main color focal point.
* Lower: The face is split down the middle. One side is a realistic portrait of a long-haired anime character with detailed skin texture, soft gradients, and a highly rendered eye. The opposite side is a stylized anime face with cleaner linework and flatter shading. The dividing line creates the impression of two identities or art styles merging into one.

Stylistically:

* Black-and-grey realism forms the foundation.
* Heavy use of negative space keeps the sleeve readable despite the density.
* Thin white skin breaks around many edges make the subjects stand out from one another.
* The red is used sparingly as an accent, drawing the eye without overwhelming the grayscale work.
* Smooth whip shading and soft transitions contrast with crisp linework and hard-edged graphic elements.

Compositionally:

* The eye naturally travels from Alphonse’s helmet, down his arm, to the Flamel symbol, and finally to the split portrait.
* Large dark masses are balanced with open skin breaks, preventing the sleeve from feeling muddy.
* The placement follows the arm’s anatomy well, with the shoulder carrying the heaviest visual weight and the portrait tapering naturally toward the forearm.

Overall, it’s a cohesive anime sleeve that blends realism, manga aesthetics, and graphic design into a single composition while maintaining strong readability and visual flow. by @stoneartmtl
