We have been growing cut flowers at @stonehouse_lodge for @stonehousenevadacity to decorate at our events and offer as wedding flower packages but flowers are not JUST for amazing looks and beautiful smells.

They serve many purposes in the garden from attracting pollinators to deterring pests. Flowers have always been a staple integration in Permaculture and regenerative farming.

The dwarf French Marigold’s in the first video are a wonderful addition to a salad or garnish on an entree.

Having our own farm has always been one of the reasons we love doing what we do.

Thank you to all the people who have helped and are still helping us steward the land.

Grown close, served fresh 🌿

Every plate at a Stone House event starts at the source. We build our catering menus around what's actually in season. Much of our produce comes straight from @stonehousefarms_, with herbs picked the same week and fish and meat from growers we know by name. Then our kitchen turns it into food worth slowing down for.

Farm to table isn't a buzzword here in the Sierra Foothills. It's simply how we cook. Weddings, private dinners, gatherings of every size, with a menu that shifts as the season does.

We're opening up the farm this season.

Forty-four acres in the Nevada City foothills, and more to do than a few pairs of hands can manage. So we're inviting people to come work the land with us — planting in spring, tending through summer, bringing in the harvest come fall.

Two ways in:

Group workdays — come out for a day, work alongside the crew, and share lunch and dinner cooked from the farm.

Resident work-exchange — a few people live on the property in exchange for ongoing work through the season.

No experience needed for the day projects. Just a willingness to get your hands in the soil.

Comment FARM and we'll send you the application. A flourishing garden bed at Stone House Farms — forty-four acres in the Nevada City foothills. taken in Stone House by @stonehouse_lodge

Big thanks to @tahoecustomhomes for helping us bring this old pasture pond back to life 🙌

After some thoughtful design and a new liner, we’ve filled it up with spring water straight from the land. We’re now able to irrigate our farm using 100% natural spring water 🌱💧

Next up: turning this pond into a thriving little aquatic ecosystem to help support healthy soil, happy plants, and super tasty veggies.

We are grateful for this step forward.

“I will ask my Queen for the charms, the mystery, and the light of the hummingbird.” A song offering to the forest of California, from deep in the forest of Brazil

This is a song I learned deep in the Amazon, a song written by my dear friend @raine_asheninka 🕺. He’s currently in Brazil at @yorenka.tasorentsi - Brazil. There are wildfires raging throughout Brazilian Amazon right now, threatening not only the forests but also Indigenous communities like the Asheninka, who depend on the land for their survival. These fires, fueled by deforestation and illegal activities, are devastating the ecosystems the Indigenous have protected for generations, displacing them and destroying their ancestral homes. The crisis highlights the urgent need to protect both the environment and the rights of Indigenous peoples. Please send a prayer that way and donate to organizations like @yorenka.tasorentsi ❤️

Thank you @stonehousefarms_ for having me and a group of incredible visionaries in your creative space in the forest this weekend 🥰🕺

🌸 At Stone House, we’re dedicated to beauty in every detail! Our vibrant flowers, this summer mostly zinnias, are handpicked fresh from our own farm @stonehousefarms_ , adding a special touch to your dining experience.

🌿🌸 Zinnias are vibrant and hardy flowers known for their brilliant colors and long-lasting blooms. They thrive in full sun and are drought-tolerant, making them easy to care for. Zinnias attract pollinators like bees and butterflies, enhancing garden biodiversity. Their resilience and minimal maintenance requirements make them perfect for both experienced gardeners and beginners, bringing bright, cheerful beauty to any space.

🌸What is your favorite flower?
