As a kid, I'd staple papers together to create my own little 'books.' Stories of dogs, haunted houses, and big imagination.

Fast forward to today... I'm holding a real children's book with my name on it, and it still feels like a dream! 🤩

A coffee date was filled with conversations, creativity, and a little Diwali magic!

So excited to collaborate with a new friend who’s putting together special Diwali boxes for kids! And the best part? Cookie gets to join the celebration! 🐾✨

We’ll be sharing a table at HTX Diwali on October 24, where little readers can enjoy a reading of Cookie’s Sweetest Day, have fun with coloring sheets, and take home a copy of the book! 📚🎨

Once upon a time, I dreamed of becoming a kindergarten or first-grade teacher. 📚❤️

Life took me down a different path, but somehow, stories brought me right back to where my heart always wanted to be.

Every time I read to a classroom, see little hands shoot up with questions, or watch a child’s imagination come alive, I’m reminded why I started writing children’s books.

Because stories do more than entertain. They build confidence, spark curiosity, and help children discover a world of possibilities. ✨

📚 800 Books. Hundreds of Smiles. One Incredible Woman. ❤️

This #ThankfulTuesday is extra special because we’re celebrating not only the gift of reading but also the birthday of someone who is making a beautiful difference in our community! 🎂✨

Last week, I had the joy of participating in Addie’s Book Day, an inspiring initiative created by Addie, a Fort Bend ISD Board Member, to celebrate early literacy and ensure that every child has a book to call their own.

Through her dedication and the generosity of the community, 800 books were donated, and every student at Mission Elementary School went home with a book of their very own! 📖💕

I had the wonderful opportunity to read to first graders, and seeing their excitement reminded me why I love being a children’s author. A single story can spark imagination, build confidence, and inspire a lifelong love of reading.

And today, on Addie’s birthday, I can’t think of a more meaningful way to celebrate her than by recognizing the gift she continues to give others.

Happy Birthday, Addie! 🎉🎂 May your next chapter be as beautiful and inspiring as the stories you’re helping children discover.

Thank you for reminding us that the greatest gifts aren’t always the ones we receive, but the ones we give. ❤️

✨ Sometimes, our childhood dreams come true in ways we never imagined. ✨

Growing up, I always dreamed of becoming a kindergarten or first-grade teacher. I loved the idea of being surrounded by little minds, curious questions, big imaginations, and the joy of helping children discover something new. 🍎📚

Life took me down a different path, and I never became a classroom teacher.

But here’s what I’ve learned: Sometimes, the dream doesn’t disappear. It simply finds another way to come true. ❤️

Today, as a children’s author, I get to step into classrooms, sit with and read to young readers, and watch their faces light up with curiosity and excitement.

And every time I do, a little piece of that childhood dream comes alive.

I may not be teaching in a classroom every day, but I’m fulfilling a part of my soul by helping nurture a love for books, storytelling, and early literacy.

Because sometimes, our purpose finds us in the most unexpected ways. 💕

Here’s to the dreams that never really leave us. They just grow with us. ✨

Feel-Good Friday 💕 | Giving Back

I’ve always believed that success isn’t just about what we accomplish for ourselves, but also about what we can do for others.

Recently, I had the opportunity to sponsor the Angels With A Mission 5K, an event supporting educational opportunities through scholarships. I also made a donation to ESAW, an organization empowering women.

Two different organizations. Two meaningful missions. One shared belief: Everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.

As a children’s author, I write about kindness, inclusion, friendship, and belonging. But those aren’t just messages I want children to read about. They’re values I want to live by.

Sometimes, making a difference starts with something as simple as showing up. ❤️

Here’s to using whatever we have — our time, talents, voices, or resources — to make someone’s world a little brighter.

From picture books to personal statements… I love helping people tell their stories. ✍️

Lately, I’ve been working with high school seniors as they brainstorm, shape and polish their college essays.

And one thing I keep reminding them:

Your essay doesn’t need the biggest accomplishment or the most dramatic story. It needs to sound like YOU.

Sometimes the best essays begin with the smallest moments—the ones that reveal how you think, what you’ve learned and who you’re becoming.

That’s the part of writing I love most. 💜

Sometimes the things that don’t work out are still part of the story. 🤍

Years ago, I started a creative business designing products—including these mugs. ☕️

I still remember walking into a bakery in Brampton, Canada (@macaronz ) and seeing something I had designed sitting right there in their shop.

That business didn’t quite go the way I had hoped. But looking back, I don’t see it as wasted time.

I learned how to create.
I learned how to put my work out into the world.
I learned what worked—and what didn’t.
And most importantly, I learned to keep going.

I didn’t know then that those lessons would eventually follow me into another dream: becoming a children’s author. 📚✨

Not every chapter becomes the whole story.

Sometimes it’s simply preparing you for the next one. 💛

✨ FIRST Friday! ✨

This one feels a little surreal…

It’s my first October as a published children’s author. 📚🐾🍂

Last October, Cookie’s Sweetest Day was still a dream I was working toward. This October, I’m packing books, signing copies, attending community events, meeting families, and watching Cookie find her way into the hands of little readers. 💕

There have definitely been some flops, lots of learning, and plenty of “What am I doing?” moments along the way. 😂 But there have also been so many beautiful firsts.

And this Sunday brings another one. Cookie and I will be at Telfair OctoberFest! 🍁

Sometimes the biggest dreams happen through a whole bunch of little firsts. 💗
