Another great day adding a little more history to the van. Two more pieces of the original A-Team world are now officially part of the collection.

What started as building my dream van keeps turning into something more special with every signature and every story attached to it.

Some moments come full circle.

During my recent visit to Michigan, I had the incredible honor of meeting John Schinella and his wonderful wife, Suzanne. John is the legendary GM designer who created the iconic look and visual identity of the A-Team van. A design that turned a cargo van into a pop-culture legend with Mr T behind the wheel.

What truly stood out to me was John’s humility. He made it a point to share how grateful he is for every person who continues to cherish his work from the A-Team van to the Firebird, Fiero, and the Knight Rider design and for those who go above and beyond to keep these cars, and the memories tied to them, alive for future generations.

Growing up in Germany, The A-Team fueled my love for cars, design, and storytelling. Decades later, sitting across from the man whose creative vision shaped something so meaningful in my childhood. And being able to thank him in person was truly surreal.

The signed A-Team van design John gifted me, with a personal note, is something I will treasure for life. A reminder of legacy, creativity, and the lasting impact great design can have across generations.

They say never meet your heroes and I was worried mine might be nothing like the characters they once played on screen. But this weekend proved otherwise.

While my body reminds me every morning that I’m no longer nine years old, deep down, I’m still that kid and I finally got the chance to meet my childhood heroes, this time with my girls by my side (who I’ve probably driven a little too crazy with my A-Team obsession).

From chatting with Dirk Benedict about his German roots which reminded me so much of my late dad to Mr. T making Hannah laugh, telling her to have her mom Google him, and Kat proudly replying that her dad raised her right and she knows exactly who he is… It felt surreal. Watching Dirk and Mr. T interact like no time had passed brought it all home.

Mr. T had us all laughing, saying, “They gave me too many lines so I told Face: ‘Pick up my lines, fool!’” Just gold.

These were quick moments but they’ve been a long time coming. And every second was worth the wait.

It was also Kat’s birthday weekend, made even more special with a surprise visit from our dear friends Vo, Gia, and Grace from Miami. We were joined by my buddy Tobias, who flew in from Germany just to meet Mr. T, and friends Tony and Sharon Brubaker for an unforgettable dinner. (Oh — did I mention Tony was Mr. T’s actual stunt double? The real unsung heroes who make stars shine.)

A dream come true and the perfect kick-off to our upcoming move from Arizona to Texas.

2000hours in bodywork, fabrication and paint and have we see a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel. Our A-Team tribute Van is finally painted and is going into reassembly soon.
