Didn’t win the Ryan Field mural contest, but thought I’d share my submission… Field Conditions, 2026 Ink illustration, digital vector & color-matched mural painting 78’4” W x 15.4” H Prints available. (Submitted) Ryan Field Mural: Field Conditions Narrative   This mural represents a concentration of energy built from a symbiosis of organic and inorganic environments, inviting viewers to move beyond observation and into total immersion. It rejects the stadium as mere architecture, instead translating the visceral challenge of the Great Lakes climate into a singular, charged atmospheric event.   The composition begins with weather — specifically the theatrical force of Chicago’s lakefront, where layers of pressure and light function as a living presence rather than a backdrop. In this piece, purple is not merely a brand color; it is a sky condition. It radiates from the upper field like the high-tension moment before a thunderstorm breaks, saturating the environment. Against this, warm bursts of yellow, orange and gold erupt as compressed energy — a visual metaphor for sunlight piercing cloud cover or the electricity of a packed stadium on a late October afternoon.   Yet beneath the weather, there is structure. Geometrically, the work draws from the letterform of the Northwestern “N,” utilizing the diagonal tension found in its various typographic iterations. These crossing strokes are transformed into focused beams of light that slice across the composition. These beams represent the trajectory of a pass and the concentration of thousands of people toward a singular point of attention. Flanking this geometric intensity are cartographic forms: a topographic swirl representing the ecological memory of the lakeshore and shimmering hints of the lake’s activity that ground the scene in Chicago’s geography. Together, they frame a “middle world” where nature and structure coexist in the same vivid tension that defines competitive sport. The mural does not ask you to look at Ryan Field; it places you inside the liminal, luminous moment just before the game begins.   Alexander Stoudinger Lee by @stoudingerstudios
A Broken Bike, 2019 — some of you may have seen this a couple times but this piece was a turning point for me in painting. Spending months in the Jundt Studio… A Broken Bike, 2019 Oil on canvas 58.5 x 41 x 1.5 inches Sold. Exhibited online and in-person, including the de Young Museum in the Open Exhibit 2020-2021. In looking for new material to paint, I have been drawing on what is most central to me - my experiences. I found interest in objects I use most often. Like many, the majority of my life is spent using only a handful of items and although I have spent countless hours with these items, I have yet to spend one minute actually appreciating them. With this in mind, I began searching for things we, as a general public, often use, but never fully study such as a bike. A Broken Bike is inspired by my search to find beauty in everyday objects which usually escape our notice. A bike is a fundamental item for so many on the west coast, and around the world. In this painting, I try to highlight the beauty of a bike. 50 prints otw.

The Women Who Made Me, 2026 Oil on canvas 30 x 40 x 1.5 inches. Not every portrait is a commission. Sometimes a painting is simply a thank you. For the women whose love, encouragement, and sacrifices made me who I am. Love you both forever and a day. Not available for sale.

Looking Towards the Light, 2020-2021 Oil on canvas 30 x 30 x 1.5 inches. Some people don’t need to say much. Their presence is enough. His always has been. I’ve spent my whole life watching him think. Sitting with something. Looking toward whatever comes next. I finally tried to capture it. Some know him as Alan Ramon Stoudinger. I know him as Grandpa. Not available for sale. DM or email for commissioned portraits. by @stoudingerstudios
Sh*t Don’t Stop, 2025 Oil on canvas 36 x 36 x 1.5 inches San Francisco doesn’t stop. It evolves, absorbs, reinvents… and still gets reduced to a label. I’ve spent years painting what people walk past: airport workers, runways, a broken bike. The City is no different. Everyone thinks they know it. This piece is about what’s underneath that assumption. Title says it all.
Available for sale. P.S. @danielluriesf keep it up. by @stoudingerstudios
