Finnmark Ski & Sail aboard SkyDancer, March 22-29, 2026. Located at the very top of Norway, Finnmark is the perfect venue for a Ski & Sail trip and SkyDancer is the perfect boat to do it on. With room for ten skiers and a steel hull, SkyDancer has no problem getting into deep fjords and finding the best terrain. Although @iceaxeexpeditions and @skydancersailing go way back to Svalbard and Greenland, this will be the first year operating together in a new venue, which is always fun. Thanks to @iceaxeexpeditions and #albatrosexpeditions for another amazing trip to Antarctica - the place that never gets old! This was the 14th Ice Axe Expeditions Ski Cruise to the Antarctic Peninsula and the 2026 trip is almost sold out. It's an incredible and unforgettable skiing/riding adventure. by @straightchuter

After spending the summers in Newfoundland, @skydancersailing is moving back to Norway and I was very fortunate to join them on the St. Johns to Pete's Sports Bar (Horta, Azores) section. What a great ride and adventure! After doing many ski trips aboard SkyDancer, it was very cool to actually set sail and cross the North Atlantic Ocean. We followed a hurricane, when meant 2-3 days of sailing, a few days of motor sailing and then finished up with two days of motoring directly into the wind. SkyDancer will be running sail to ski trips in Finnmark this year and I'll be aboard March 22-29. There's still a few spots available and any time spent with Nick & Estella is the best! #iceaxeexpeditions by @straightchuter

Join Greg Hill tonight in SLC for a book signing and presentation at the Arc'teryx City Creek Center store. Doors open at 6:00 and the show begins at 6:30.

Aside from being a genuinely awesome human and amazing backcountry skier, Greg has a wide ranging background in the mountains. From winning early SkiMo races to skiing 2 million vertical feet of backcountry in a year, getting his guiding certificates, trips to the Himalayas, racking up 55,000' of vertical in one day and having a family, I'm sure Greg will have some fun tales to tell. by @straightchuter

Iceland in 2006. This was an adventure packed trip with collapsing tents, avalanches, Vikings, film crews and even some good skiing. A little segment of it was included in the Sony Pictures Classsic "Steep" when John Armstrong did an amazing job filming us getting caught in a powerful slide. taken in Iceland by @straightchuter

Baffin Island 2004 with @bradbarlage. This started out as a trip to kite from Pond Inlet on the northern tip of Baffin Island down to Clyde River, which is about 180 miles to the south, but eventually turned into a couloir hunting trip right around Pond Inlet instead. This area had a wilder feel than Clyde River and while it also had some nice, huge couloirs, they were a bit meaner and harder to find. taken in Pond Inlet, Nunavut by @straightchuter
