RIP Juan Atkins Godfather of Techno

One of the best DJ experiences of our lives was the night we saw him at Milk Bar after they had moved to 618. We had an early drive the next morning but could not pass up the opportunity to see him. We had figured we’d stop in for a bit but what ended up happening was a master class in what a dj could do with two turntables and mixer. We could not stop dancing until the last song was played that night.

This would go on to entrench our obsession with Detroit Techno and we would be lucky enough to see him many times in Detroit and Miami over the years and play his records out over and over again.

Lots of love to his Detroit family

Thanks Juan for the music and the memories. by @strangelo_e
