📝 MEMBERSHIP 2025/26 📝 If you’re thinking about joining Pool, heres a little more information before you buy your membership! You'll need to be a member to play at our weekly tournaments regularly, and if you want to play at BUCS and other competitions throughout the year. The budget for the club is allocated based on membership numbers, so buying a membership really helps! We're bringing back the two different membership options to provide flexibility and to reward dedicated Monday night attendees. Gold Membership costs a little more than Standard up-front, but you get half-price entry to Monday tournaments, so it works out cheaper if you attend regularly! We've also been working hard to secure as many deals as we can with partner businesses, including our new sponsor, @shillingbrew! These help players get the most out of their memberships, whilst giving back to local bars, pubs, and clubs at the same time. To purchase a membership, just go to the link in our bio to get to the Pool and Snooker sports union page, then scroll to the bottom to pick the membership tier that best suits you. If you're a member of the Sports Union already, you'll only have to pay the Pool bolt-on fee! Once you've purchased a membership, we'll send you an email with a reminder of all the perks as well as any e-vouchers or QR codes. We'll get your membership packet with your physical cards and some other goodies to you at a Monday tournament after you purchase! Any questions? Just send us a DM or ask Caitlin at a Monday tournament or via messenger. by @strathpool

This coming Monday, instead of our usual weekly flyer, we will be participating in the MacMillan Cancer Support Pool Marathon! In doing so, we aim to raise awareness of the support networks in place for those who are affected by cancer. We know that our weekly tournament is a place to decompress and catch up with your mates for lots of us that play, so for this fundraiser we'd like to have as many people as possible along to pot some balls, start some open conversations, and raise some money for a good cause! Taking on the challenge to complete 100 frames, we will be running 3-4 winner-stays-on tables, with the winner of each frame moving us one step closer to our goal! There will be prizes on offer for managing to stay on a table for more than 4 frames, as well as a prize for the winner of our 100th frame! Alongside this, we will be running a 6-red shootout competition, with a prize for the fastest clearance 👀 We will also be subjecting two of our first team players - President Oliver Yemm and Team Coordinator Donald Bolton - to a livestreamed 'beat the best" trial, where any challenger feeling confident can attempt to record a famous win, and bag themselves a prize. There will also be the option to apply a handicap to both players during these games, for everyone's entertainment in person and online 😁 If you can't make it on the night but want to help us raise money for a good cause, the link to our fundraiser page is in our bio, and will be up on the stream on the night! by @strathpool
This coming weekend, we will seek to defend our Scottish University 8-Ball Pool Championships (SUPA) title across the 2-day competition hosted in the Shandon, Edinburgh! On Monday, our competitive players prepared for the tournament, with the tables for their training session at McGoldrick's funded by our grant from the Alumni Fund. We are very grateful for the Alumni Funds' continued support in helping the club train on quality tables, enabling us to play our best at our biggest competitions this season. Swipe to the end to see this year's SUPA teams! 👀🎱 by @strathpool
