And Im in awe of you. Every. Single. Day.

On September 16th I was induced, 10 days past your due date. Even then, you did things your way, in your own time.

I was in labor with you for 28 hours… but you had other plans… plans to stay cozy. September 17th, you arrived via c-section. The happiest day of my entire life. The day you made me a mama.

Since that day, you have kept me laughing. Keeping me on my toes. You constantly make me see things from a different lens. You are kind beyond measure. You are witty. You are brilliant. You are unique — My unicorn of a child.

I love the magic you bring to every moment. I love your smile, your contagious energy. I love everything about you.

I get you, Ash. You’re my mini me but also SO your own person.

Never change. Always be the 🦄 you were meant to be.

I love you in ways i can’t describe. Forever your “mamas”

On Sunday, our sweet Blue crossed over the rainbow bridge at 16½ years old. It still doesn’t feel real. My heart is shattered, my thoughts scattered, but my love for him is as clear as ever.
Blue was the gentlest of souls…pure love in a furry, muppet-like body. He came to me through Jordan when he was just a year old, but it didn’t take long for him to become OUR dog… my little shadow. From the first moment, he wanted nothing more than to be by my side, and that never changed. Through the hardest moments of my life, Blue was there. Through the happiest moments, he somehow made them even brighter.
He had that rare kind of magic that made everyone feel like he was theirs. Aunts, uncles, grandmas…our whole family claimed him. He was “that dog,” the once-in-a-lifetime heart dog who gives more than you ever knew you needed.
Blue made life so incredibly rich. I miss him at my feet while I work. I miss the weight of him in our bed each night. I miss his smell, his sweetness, his soft presence that filled every corner of our home and every corner of my heart.
But even in this grief, I’m grateful…grateful for the long, beautiful life we shared, and grateful that we were able to give him a world full of love, just as he gave to us every single day.
Blue, my perfect boy. You’ll always be with us. Always.

My sister, my best friend… Happy Birthday! There’s no one else I would ever want to endlessly talk on the phone with about all things. There’s no one funnier. No one more loyal.
