Chickening today…

This lady has a sore foot and scaly legs. She’s getting a bath.

With everything ready, I get her. I give one attempt of picking her up by hand, then move on. Using the salmon net has been the most effective way for me.

You can see it’s a swift but airy, almost wiffle-ball swoop, and she sits right down. The heavier material in the netting helps keep her feeling secured, and is less problematic than lighter weight garden netting.

Easily retrieved and calmed in my arm, and after the christening of shit on my shirt, we proceed.

Acting on this asap means we have the best chance keeping the coop and flock healthy!
