I’ve been sitting on these, and that’s a shame.

There’s a sad lack of acting clips on my grid, and I’m here to rectify that.

Fret Not has turned out to be one of my favorite projects ever. @derek_vr_romrell @davemartinez__ there was so much trust and collaboration built here, and it shows. Makes my actor heart happy.

Intrigued? Catch the rest of Fret Not on the @livingscriptures streaming platform. ;)

I’d like to imagine a version of Ophelia that didn’t drown.

Who thought, “Hmm, two can play at this game” when she came across Hamlet’s faux-crazy act…and got to picking flowers.

Perhaps this version knew that even though being abandoned hurts, abandoning yourself is so much worse. And she wasn’t about to waste her words on someone refusing to listen.

(Yes, I know women didn’t have that kind of freedom in the 15th century. Being autonomous and rejecting patriarchal expectations of marriage would pretty much be a death sentence at the time. But…let’s suspend disbelief for a second, yeah?)

So Ophelia gets messy with it. She puts on a little show, sings some songs, throws out some necessary smoke and mirrors to get an entire castle off her back…and earns herself some much-needed alone time by the river to feel what she’s gotta feel.

Maybe Rosencrantz and Guildenstern aren’t the only ones deserving of a reframe. A little more compassion within the narrative.

Because where I’m standing, a touch of creative madness and a little space don’t seem like a bad thing.

Question for my ACTOR friends

(And I’m happy to hear from other creatives as well! Your hard-earned wisdom is GOLD)

The film industry, as we know, has its ebbs and flows. Sometimes gigs are pouring in, and other times you’re left wondering where the next paycheck is coming from.

For those of you navigating this:

What have you done to make ends meet while still creating space for and prioritizing your craft??

Was there any job, side hustle, or opportunity that fit exceptionally well? How did you find, create, or land it?

I’m especially curious about opportunities that allow you to maintain some flexibility, creative energy, and time for auditions and projects. 🖤

(I’ve personally done makeup for films and events in the past. There are pros and cons to that being a good fit, one being that it’s industry dependent, and so if the industry is slow…everything is slow).

Please impart upon me your wisdom! Consider this field research on my part hehe.

AND if there’s a resource, person, or opportunity you think I should know about, LMK!

It’s been a difficult week, so please indulge me in a little artistic escapism 🖤

It feels like I’m flipping through different storybooks, looking at the unique style of each photographer here. These all feel like their own little fantasy world.

Three photographers:

Slides 5-10: @tawnyhorton
Slides 11-14: @tonypa

Which style are you drawn to the most??

Hey, sometimes you’re going through your phone, and you stumble on some archival footage, and it must needs be posted. 😈

Dang, I miss those bangs.

California! In which a girl lives out her dream of backpacking the Sierras, (even if we got rained out) climbing glaciers, fishing, milkshakes…and naturally a proper beach day

Thanks to my cousin @bbennett_outdoors and @jenieb for putting this together, and @dvpacker for convincing me to come 🥹🫶🏼
