Photography and poetry may belong to different worlds, but both are driven by the same impulse: to distil experience into its most essential form.

They isolate life fragments: gestures silences, a fleeting expression and allow them to suggest something much larger.

Puneet Sehgal / Light and Dark

@explorewithlucky

In Light and Dark, Puneet Sehgal uses contrast as both a visual language and a way of isolating human presence within the city. Subjects emerge briefly from deep areas of shadow, while architecture, light and darkness reduce the surrounding street to its essential forms. Moving towards a noir approach to street photography, Sehgal transforms everyday urban scenes through the tension between what is revealed and what remains hidden.

VitaliiM / American dream

@justphoto.96

American dream turns away from the familiar image of America and towards what more comfortable narratives can leave outside the frame. VitaliiM uses the street to observe overlooked realities, focusing his attention on what exists alongside the idealised vision of the country. The series asks the viewer to look beyond expectation and confront parts of everyday America that can be easier to pass by than acknowledge.

Murat Aytan / Silent Trace

@shortstreetstories

Silent Trace examines the gradual dissolution of human presence within the contemporary city. Bodies become silhouettes, shadows, reflections and fragments as architecture and systems of movement increasingly absorb the individual. Working in black and white, Murat Aytan concentrates on the space between presence and disappearance, where people remain visible but increasingly become temporary marks within the structures and rhythms surrounding them.

Aaron Márquez / Moving Through

@aaronxmarquez

Moving Through observes people in the brief, unscripted moments of everyday life. Across familiar streets and places encountered while travelling, Aaron Márquez looks for gestures, behaviours and interactions that emerge when nobody appears to be watching. Rather than searching for spectacle, the series is grounded in presence: paying attention to ordinary life and the fleeting moments that reveal themselves naturally within it.

Dietmar Temps / Cuba, Street Scenes at the Ciclo Bus Station in Havana

@dietmartemps.street

At Havana’s Ciclo bus station, Dietmar Temps observes the constant rhythm of everyday movement. Shared taxis arrive and depart, street helpers direct passengers and classic cars continue their role within the city’s public transport system. Concentrated around one small transit point, the series turns an ordinary commute into a portrait of Havana shaped by movement, necessity and the people who keep its streets circulating.

Matt Newman / Strange Company

@mattnewmanphoto

Five nights in Tokyo, photographed from the position of an outsider. Strange Company follows the people Matt Newman finds himself alongside while moving through a city he does not fully understand. Close, dark and instinctive, the photographs rely less on explanation than observation. Without familiarity or context, Newman works from what remains immediately available to him: faces, gestures, proximity and the strange intimacy of sharing space with strangers.

Miranda Grundy / Through Youthful Eyes

@mgrundz

Through Youthful Eyes searches everyday life for moments of play, wonder and togetherness. Miranda Grundy photographs scenes that briefly recover the openness with which a child might encounter the world: without familiarity having stripped away its capacity to surprise. The series attempts to make these fleeting experiences more durable, finding within ordinary public life reminders of curiosity, presence and the simple possibility of being amazed.

A new body of work from Street Attitude Collective member Nicola Bianchi.

Nicola continues his visual research around light and fragments of life. Light reshapes ordinary scenes, isolating gestures, figures and details that might otherwise pass unnoticed, somewhere between documentary observation and a more subjective reading of the everyday.

Memory remains a constant thread throughout his work.

The Street Attitude Collective brings together a selected group of photographers with distinct and consistent photographic practices.

We are currently reviewing new candidates for the Collective.

Jirayut Thongwatcharapaiboon / Something Made Me Stop

@jiyut_kapoon

Something Made Me Stop begins with the instinct to look twice. Jirayut Thongwatcharapaiboon photographs ordinary situations that suddenly feel unfamiliar: nature meeting constructed spaces, abandoned objects, animals appearing unexpectedly or details without an obvious explanation. Rather than imposing a narrative, he follows curiosity itself, allowing each photograph to remain unresolved and asking the viewer to stay with what initially caught his attention.
