Street art in #helsingborg , Sweden.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It is with pleasure and excitement that we can finally unveil another edition of our festival! Between the 15-19th of September 2022 we welcome you to our hometown, Helsingborg, the beautiful little gem located in the southern part of Sweden. As the story goes, Helsingborg is the Swedish “gate” towards the continent so it is only fair that we bring another banger festival this year!

Our 2022 festival will be held under our new name, Sweden Walls. Being part of an international public art festival that strives to bring artists and communities together POW! WOW! Worldwide and all partners have decided to change the name of the organization to Worldwide Walls. The name POW! WOW! was inspired from the color filled pages of comic books. “POW!” being the impact that art has on a person, “WOW!” being the reaction that art has on a viewer.

We understand that out of that context it has inspired confusion and concern over issues of appropriation and has been problematic of indigenous communities. For this, we are truly sorry. Our hope is that the name change reflects a more accurate vision of our mission and helps keep the focus on the art and the amazing artists working hard to beautify the cities we are lucky enough to work in across the world.

Worldwide Walls was chosen to highlight the part of our organization that we care about the most – the artistic talent, cities and people that makes each special. So very welcome to Sweden Walls in Helsingborg, Sweden between the 15-19th of September 2022!

A big thank you to @helsingborgsstad and @powwowworldwide for believing in our work and making this possible!

Super happy to finally reveal
”Unfolding dreams” by @_millo_ at Helsingborg C! Due to renovations his last mural was cancelled but luckily @stadsbyggnadhelsingborg decided to give us another try.

The work underlines the idea of travelling, the evergreen moment of opening a map and dream about what to do!

Everytime we see @_millo_ in action we are blown away. This time was no different. Like classical music and poetry Millo’s art gives the viewer a sense of calm, a moment for reflection and inner peace. taken in Helsingborg, Sweden by @streetarthbg

Great day together with @cecilia.bjork yesterday that made two small murals on the theme women and Helsingborg. All the four women being depicted in her motifs have had a huge impact on Helsingborg as a city and have made some pretty remarkable things within various areas.

The women depicted are Lisa Kallos, Gisela Trapp, Sally Bauer and Eva Rydberg!

Can be seen along Terminalgatan in Helsingborg! A big thank you to @stadsbyggnadhelsingborg for a great collaboration as always!
