Happy Heavenly Birthday, Tam. I remember celebrating your 60th here with you and talking about meeting up for lunch every month when we’re both retired. Wish that could’ve happened. Anyway, we all miss you. I’ll see you at the next stop; hope you’ll have your famous spam musubi ready. 🍣❤️ taken in Emperor's Palace Lacey by @stretch.z28

40 years ago, my brothers and I attended Hot Rod Magazine’s Super-CruiseWest. Our cars even made it into the magazine. I decided to drive down and take pics four decades later. (And yeah, the speed limit was 55!). Crazy how fast time flies! taken in Cowlitz County Event Center by @stretch.z28

HAPPY RETIREMENT, Brian! The 70’s show “Welcome Back, Kotter” pretty much follows my brother, Brian’s career. He was one of the “gearheads”; kids who’d rather be elbows-deep in gear oil than cracking open a book or using a slide-rule. Kids who drove muscle cars and rode motorcycles: yes, they were affordable back then. His teaching career spanned over 3 decades. It was amazing to see his former students from 1995 to current meet each other for the first time or for the first time in decades and talk about how Brian had changed their lives for the good. Some of the former students’ kids were also in his class. I talked to one student (Class of ‘97.) who said the same and is now a Battalion Chief for a fire department. One neighborhood kid, who grew up without a father told me Brian mentored him, even showed him how to properly shake a hand. Brian took a mediocre “auto shop” and turned it into an award-winning auto-technology class. (A lot of the award winners were girls who started out just wanting to learn how to change a tire.) His former students include business owners, military, pilots, doctors, law enforcement and firefighters. From what I saw at this gathering was Brian made every student feel valuable and acknowledged. To me, he’s still my little brother who all the girls had a crush on (Which is why I had to settle to be the funny one. 😂) but to his students, he was much more than that. Love you much, my brother and Happy Retirement, Mr. Kotter! (The last photo shows the final log- entry which pretty much summed up his career.) by @stretch.z28

Typical Bayou Vista sunset. No filters here. Owning a home on saltwater is high maintenance but the views and island-vibes are worth it. Cheers! 🍻😁 by @stretch.z28

You had so many people talking about how you’ve supported and encouraged them! The Olympia Ballroom was packed and there were 600 viewers on livestream! That’s what you meant to all of us, Tammi. You took the last train out too damn early. We live and miss you, Tam. And thank you for sharing a part of your life with me. ❤️ I’ll look for you at the next stop, hon. “I don’t regret that the ride has to be over, but rather feel grateful for the miles traveled, for the sights along the way, and to be exactly where I am.” ~ Neil Peart by @stretch.z28

Who’d have thought our first hello 44 years ago would end up with me saying goodbye at the end of all things? I want the world to know you existed and what a kind-hearted person you were. Tammi retired from law enforcement, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard. The last job was in the 194th Intelligence Squadron. Thank you Tammi for sharing a part of your life with me. Thank you for being a part of The Sister-Wives Club. (Nothing weird though. Some of you didn’t know I was married 3 times. 😂). Thanks for always visiting Dad every Friday and sharing a beer with him. Thanks for being a part of my sons’ lives. I was honored to have held your arm when you took your last breath. Tammi was with me, our little sister Megan and her partner-in-crime (Well, law enforcement.😁) April when her kind heart stopped beating. Megan, thank you for handling all the stressful things and taking care of Tammi. April, when you and Tammi were cops together, you called each other “Partner”. You showed what “partner” means by coming by daily to check on Tammi, cleaning her home and ultimately saying “Goodbye partner.” Sweet Dreams, Tam. I hope Heaven is full of cats, cheap Temu puzzles and Buc-ee’s The world is a little less without you in it. Tell Dad “hi” for me. #fuckcancer🎀 #cats_of_instagram #usairforce🇺🇸 #butokukankarate by @stretch.z28

Meet my daughter, Patty. (Tommy’s wife.). Silly, funny, smart@sstic, with a carefree attitude but is a natural at Karate. “Hey dad. I’m gonna fight at this tournament!” (Wins grand champion.). “Hey dad. I’m trying for Team USA!” Ok, good luck, hon! 😉(Going to Germany to fight for the team.) Plus, she can cook up a mean chicken katsu curry. I’m really proud of you mija! ❤️ Keep my boy safe, ok? 😂. Love you bunches! by @stretch.z28

First Friday of every month. Not a car show; just a good, old fashioned cruise. Makes me miss the 70’s. 😁 taken in Longview, Washington by @stretch.z28

A good friend of mine @d3ironworks made this gorgeous blade for my impending retirement. I told him it was too pretty to ever use but it certainly saved the day! taken in Arlington Heights, Washington by @stretch.z28
