Summer recording sessions. ☀️🎶
Back in the studio, working on “Rooftop” — this time with the wonderful @monteferrantebruno adding some beautiful vibraphone. ✨
A little glimpse into how the track is coming together — with Bruno on vibes, @ulfstricker on drums 🥁 and me singing and happily watching this new song grow layer by layer. Thank you @timuellendahl for the nice bass!
Really loving the sound and feel of this one. Warm, soulful, a little jazzy… and definitely a new vibe for my music. 🎹🌇
“Rooftop” — coming later this year. 🚀

Tracking drums for my song “Thing With Feathers” with @ulfstricker 🥁✨
Starting the session he said:
“Yeah, I’ll give you a few more variations…”
Well… he definitely did. 😅🔥Note the tiny little smile on his face looking towards me after the last flam.
The precision, creativity and sheer power this guy brings into a session is just amazing.
Every take opened another door.
This clip is from the final section of the song — featuring a fiery sax solo by @reiner.witzel 🎷 and a fantastic horn section from the HSD BigBand.
New direction in my music right now:
singing lead vocals, more energetic, more alive, more jazzy✨
“Thing With Feathers” coming soon this year. Thank you Emily D.🪽

A couple of moments from the sessions at @ulfstricker ’s beautiful studio. 🎶
We recorded drums for two upcoming songs: “Rooftop” and “Thing With Feathers.”
Both coming later this year.
I had a blast working with him — so easy, so comfortable, so quick and precise. 🥁✨
High ceilings, daylight, a stunning Steinway in the room… the kind of place where music just flows. 🎹☀️

Working on new songs.
A new chapter.
Neo Soul.
“Rooftop” – and yes, I’m on lead vocals. This one feels different. In a good way.
Session @strickerstudios with the amazing @ulfstricker on drums, thanks man!

Besides practicing guitar, writing songs or raising hell on stage I more or less regularly work as a session player for different artists. Although I record a lot of guitar parts at home I‘m always happy when I‘m able to work in a real recording studio - like @strickerstudios owned by my friend and drummer extraordinaire @ulfstricker . The video shows the process of recording a song. It was made during a session for the upcoming album of singer / songwriter @dimasirota. For this project I also played all bass parts. taken in Stricker Studios by @strickerstudios

💙 liebe umbreros 💙

Last but not least
Danke an Thomas Csaba @chiefdiggin die @strickerstudios für den dicken Support!
Fetten Thänk an @leonalexej & @tutmirleidsonne für die geile Kamera-Arbeit!
