Alrighty Folks Time For Some Changes... Been considering changing our company name for a while now. We've outgrown our old 2the9s Retro philosophy and have gone a different direction from the days of zoot suits and vintage luggage. I guess we've decided that casual is the best way to be. Dont get me wrong, we like getting all gussied up, but we love being our lowbrow best even more.
Absolutely nothing is changing, but our name. All the same original cool Rockabilly and Greaser Gear you've come to love, along with the bad attitude and even worse dad jokes. Hence forth we will be known as STRICTLY OLD SKOOL. Just think of us as 2the9's better looking and cooler twin. So when you see STRICTLY OLD SKOOL pop up with messages or if yer looking for the old 2the9s Retro thats us. Hopefully you'll stick with us, cause if you've come this far you'll love to see what we have in your future.

See ya on the flip side and stay greasy,
Nathaniel Self

THIS ladies and germs is why you don't go all out using untested ink, cause things happen. Which is why we always, always quality test our gear before it gets to the public. Fortunately the jacket turned out looking pretty cool as a happy accident. It was faded and intentionally distressed so the paint matches the style, actually making it look like this jacket has been around for ages. It's still going up for sale, but for a discount price this Saturday at the Black Cat Bash in downtown Gallatin. Might try painting this again on a dark black denim, but have to see. And next time with inks that I actually know will hold up.

~EDIT~ Guess keeping my fingers crossed didnt work all that well. It didnt make it through the wash. This is why I quality test everything before it goes in the booth. Oh well. least I have photos of how it looked before. It can be fixed but I just dont feel like putting more effort into it. This sux. What I get for using untested ink.

Good Lord this jacket was a pain. Everything I hate in one place. I hate painting on fabric cause the ink bleeds, I hate doing portraits cause I suck at them, but finally got it finished and it's looking good. Honestly I'm tired of looking at it. So far so good...now let's see if it survives the wash. If so I'll have it Saturday at the @earthfirstvintage Black Cat Bash. Keeping my fingers crossed.

It's been a pain to get this damn jacket done, but its pretty close. Need to rest my eyes and back from being hunched over an art table for hours. Hopefully by the end of tomorrow it will be finished. I'll have it Saturday in the Gallatin Square for the @earthfirstvintage Black Cat Bash. The always lovely @jezebelblue jewelry will join me with all of her sparkly rockabilly and spooky goodness. Gonna be our first event in "down town" so come on out and see us. Cheers and Stay Greasy.

Arg, this jacket is gonna be the death of me. Working on denim with crap brushes. I typically don't do denim jackets, but figured doing this Cramps jacket, which is a new design for me, might be better to mess it up than a leather jacket...thinking I'm regretting that about now. The umpteen layers of paint is taking forever and it's really testing me. Just hoping it turns out something like what I was hoping it would. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Added a few extra details and outlined the art to make it stand out. Rare I'm proud of a piece, but I sort of am on this one. Should turn some heads and pull some attention away from all the hot rods Saturday at the @luckynutnashville in Hendersonville during the Voodoo Hoodoo Re-doo. Stop by the booth for some of the best in Original Rockabilly and Retro Clothing, Jewelry and Accessories. @jezebelblue jewelry will be there too with all her sparkly goodness so no matter what the weather forecast says it's gonna be a blast. We'll see you there! Cheers and Stay Greasy.

All but done. Just need to outline it tomorrow so it can dry and be ready for the @voodookingstn Voodoo Hoodoo Re-doo at @luckynutnashville in Hendersonville Saturday. Have to say I'm actually sort of pleased how it turned out. Been a pain, but it should be a hit. Come out and make it yours Saturday. Cheers and Stay Greasy.

Bet yer never gonna guess what my next project is? Been a minute since I've done a Princess Leia jacket, so I figured since I don't really have any printing to do since our last event bombed, why not? Got the outline done and now to lay down the base coat...but first lunch. Hopefully I'll have it done by Saturday for the Voodoo Hoodoo Re-doo car show hosted by our friends the @voodookingstn at the @luckynutnashville. We'll see you there. Cheers and Stay Greasy!
