I didn’t expect to get emotional putting these photos together, but here we are.

For a long time, I learned how to keep going regardless of what was happening around me or inside me. In the military, sometimes that’s just what you have to do. You put things away, focus on what’s in front of you, and tell yourself you’ll deal with the rest later.

The problem is, sometimes later turns into years.

When I found endurance sports, I thought I was just finding another way to challenge myself physically. What I didn’t expect was how much they would help me emotionally.

Somewhere in those long runs, early mornings, and hours on the bike, I started finding the space to slow down. To think. To process things I’d carried for years. And sometimes, to finally let myself feel emotions I’d gotten so good at suppressing.

I don’t run to escape my past. If anything, running has helped me learn how to face it.

I’m incredibly proud of my military service and everything it’s taught me. It’s shaped so much of who I am. But I’m also learning that the military can be a part of my identity without being my entire identity.

And maybe that’s why these photos hit me so hard. They’re both me. Just at different points in learning who I am. by @stridingsolo

Waco 69.1 recap.

Quick turnaround for this one. A little recovery, a little work with the team, and then right back into race week. Once the swim got canceled, I figured we might as well get aggressive and see what was there.

Had a monster bike, massive PR and 10th fastest bike split in my age group.

Going into the run, my mindset was pretty much full send or bonk. Sometimes you have to test the limit to find it, and I found mine a little earlier than planned 😂

That was really what I wanted out of this one though. See where I’m at, find what needs work, and take that into La Quinta in December.

More than anything, I’m incredibly thankful and blessed to have a body capable of ripping two races three weeks apart. That was really the biggest win for me.

Huge thanks to @brainsandbrawncoach for getting me back out there that quickly. Grateful for the team and everyone who showed up to support. Congrats to everyone who raced!

2026 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship Nice, France

OH. MY. GOODNESS. I was way more emotional standing on that start line than I expected 😅

The swim actually started pretty well. Things got a little messy on the way back in, and when my hammies started cramping as I came out of the water, I definitely had a quick “oh shit” moment.

That little bit of panic followed me onto the bike, especially knowing what was waiting for me on the climb. But the fueling plan was an absolute lifesaver (thanks coach @brainsandbrawncoach), and I made it to the top of Col de Vence not far off my goal watts.

The descent was unreal. I dropped into a pure flow state and stayed there the entire way down.

I felt really good through the first 5K of the run, but the heat caught up with me fast and I found that dark place pretty quickly. Seeing friends and family absolutely losing it on the sidelines each lap was everything. The energy was electric, and I felt so damn lucky to have them there.

Race day was only part of what made this week so special. I got to be in the same room as some of the best athletes in the world, make incredible new friends, and share the week with people I care about.

I’m more excited than ever for what comes next.

I promise, I’m not done yet.

Merci beaucoup Nice 🇫🇷🫶 by @stridingsolo

What a weekend.

Getting to race Coeur d’Alene has always been a dream of mine. Between traveling with a bike for the first time, spending the weekend with family, and qualifying for Worlds, it turned into a weekend I’ll never forget.

Huge thanks to @brainsandbrawncoach and @nvdmcoaching for helping me get here.

Still doesn’t feel real.
