Happy birthday Madyloo!!

It’s hard to put into words how proud I am of the woman you’ve become. You’ve been my little buddy since you were tiny, and I still think about taking you duck hunting when you were only about three years old. You’ve always been Daddy’s little girl and will always have a special place in my heart.

Now I get to watch you be an incredible wife and an amazing mom, and that makes me even more proud. You’re honest, dependable, kind, obedient, and always thinking of others before yourself. You’re the kind of person people can count on and look up to. You have such a Christ-like heart, and I know Heavenly Father has blessed you with so many gifts that you use to bless the people around you.

I’m proud of everything you’ve accomplished, but even more proud of who you are and the woman you’ve become.

Happy birthday, Mady. I love you more than you’ll ever know, and I’m so grateful Heavenly Father chose me to be your dad. by @stringback

Some views remind you just how blessed you are.

Flying into Lake Powell at sunrise never gets old. Every flight reminds me that freedom isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we get to live.

This Fourth of July, I’m grateful for this incredible country, the men and women who have defended our freedoms, and the opportunity to chase dreams from 3,000 feet above the ground.

God Bless America. 🇺🇸

Happy Independence Day.

Happy Father’s Day to the man who taught me what it means to be a father, a friend, and a good man.

As a kid, I probably didn’t appreciate everything my dad was trying to teach me. Looking back now, I realize just how much of who I am came from him. He taught me to work hard, solve problems, respect others, manage money wisely, and always take responsibility for myself.

My dad taught me how to fix things, how to think through challenges, and how to keep moving forward when things got tough. He also gave me my love for aviation and inspired a dream that eventually led me to become a pilot myself.

Some of my favorite memories in life have been spent hunting, traveling, and simply spending time with him. Somewhere along the way, my dad became one of my very best friends.

This week I watched him, at 82 years old, stack more than 220 hay bales without missing a beat. The toughness, determination, and work ethic that have defined his entire life are still there today.

I’m proud to be his son. Truly proud.

Not everyone gets a father they admire. I do.

Happy Father’s Day, Dad. Thank you for everything you’ve taught me, everything you’ve sacrificed, and for the example you’ve set. I love you. by @stringback

Happy 21st Birthday to my little blonde-haired, blue-eyed angel, Mckall.

From the time you were little, you’ve always loved your dad, and somehow I was always the one who could calm you down when no one else could. I’ll never forget one night at Lake Powell when I literally walked the beach barefoot for hours, carrying you from our houseboat to another because you would cry the second I stopped. Looking back, I’m amazed I didn’t get bit by a rattlesnake or stung by a scorpion. It about ruined Lake Powell for me for a few years—but I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.

You’ve always had such a strong spirit. You have a gift for noticing the people who are hurting, caring for those in need, and seeing the best in everyone. You’re probably harder on yourself than anyone else ever could be, yet you treat every person as equal and worthy of love.

You are selfless, beautiful, kind, and one of the most genuine people I know. You put the needs of others before your own, and I know without a doubt that one day you will be an incredible wife and an amazing mother.

What makes me proudest is your character. You’ll do the right thing even when no one is watching. In a world where that’s becoming rare, that means everything.

I couldn’t be more proud to call you my daughter. I love you with all my heart, and I’m so excited to watch the incredible life that’s ahead of you.

Happy 21st Birthday, Mckall. You’ll always be my little girl. ❤️ by @stringback

Happy Mother’s Day to two incredible women who have shaped my life in ways I can’t fully put into words.

First, my mom.

From the time I was young, my mom was my foundation. She grounded me (sometimes literally… and yes, there may have been a few wooden spoons and a yardstick involved 😆), but more importantly, she taught me the things that mattered most.

She taught me love beyond my understanding. She taught me respect, kindness, and what it truly feels like to be loved. She helped me see strengths and talents in myself—sometimes even the ones I didn’t really want to work on at the time.

Most importantly, she taught me about my Savior, about faith, and about trusting God. Before I had a testimony of my own, she carried one for me and led by example. Through love, service, kindness, patience, and grace, she showed me what goodness looks like.

Mom, thank you for helping shape the man I am today. I love you. Happy Mother’s Day.

And to my beautiful wife, Tori…

From the moment I met you, I saw something special in you. You have always been kind, always treated people with love and respect, and never had a bad thing to say about others. You’ve always been a light—someone people naturally love being around.

You became a mother in your early twenties and stepped into that role with so much grace, love, and devotion. I’ve had the privilege of watching you raise our children with patience, kindness, strength, and unconditional love. Your commitment to motherhood has never been halfway—it’s always been 110%.

And now, watching you as a Nana somehow makes me love and admire you even more. The love you pour into our family is one of the greatest blessings of my life.

I truly believe one of the greatest gifts Heavenly Father gave me in this life was the blessing of both of you. Watching the way you have fulfilled your divine role as mothers—with love, sacrifice, faith, and grace—has been beautiful to witness.

I love you both more than words can say.

Happy Birthday, Cambree 🤍

Scrolling through my camera roll tonight, I realized something—I have more pictures and videos of you than anyone else. And that is 100% on you.

Ever since you were little, you were always the one saying, “Hey Dad, take my picture,” or “Hey Dad, let’s take one.” And if I wasn’t taking the picture, there was a good chance you had already disappeared with my phone.

More than once I’d turn around and my phone was gone, only to find you a few minutes later—phone propped up in the corner, talking to it like you had your own YouTube channel.
“Hi guys…”
Straight into whatever story, lesson, or update you were sharing with your imaginary following.

At the time, I never went back and deleted those photos or videos. I didn’t think much of it then. I was usually just relieved to have my phone back. But looking at them now, they’re priceless—little moments I didn’t realize I’d someday be so grateful to have.

Now you’re 17, and scrolling through all of it tonight just reminds me how lucky I was that you kept asking for pictures—and kept sneaking my phone when I wasn’t paying attention.

If you know Cambree, there’s a good chance you have a picture of her on your phone—either because she made you take it or because she stole your phone and left one there. That’s just who she is. Confident, kind, full of personality, and impossible not to love.

There’s something special about being a dad and having daughters—the bond, the perspective, and the way each of you has helped make me the dad I am today. Being a dad to my girls has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.

I love you more than you know.

Three years. Some days it feels like you left yesterday… and other days it feels like you’ve been gone a lifetime. Grief is weird like that — it bends time, stretches it, and then snaps it back on you when you least expect it.

Growing up as the little brother, I spent my whole life walking in your shadow. In high school, on my mission, even into adulthood — I was always “following” you… doing what you did, trying to measure up, trying to catch up. And honestly, sometimes I wished I could break out of that shadow and carve my own path.

But these last three years have taught me something I never understood before:
There is comfort in a good man’s shadow.
There is safety. Direction. An example to follow from someone who walks the right way.

I didn’t realize how much peace came from being right behind you until the day your shadow was gone… and suddenly it was my turn to cast one for those coming behind me.

And that’s the lesson that keeps hitting me:
You never know when the shadow in front of you will disappear. You never know when the responsibility shifts, and you become the one others follow.

I’m grateful — genuinely, deeply grateful — that I got to spend so many years walking in yours. You shaped me more than you ever knew.

I miss you, big brother. I’ll never forget you.
Save me a spot next to you.
Love you always. by @stringback

Once, I rode in the right seat — the student beside the Wise One, learning the language of lift and life. Now the roles have shifted, and the Learned One takes the yoke, carrying his mentor through the dawn skies. The circle turns, but the lessons remain. by @stringback

✨ Happy Birthday Madyloo! ✨

I couldn’t be more proud of the woman you’ve become. You are beautiful inside and out—kind, loving, and always aware of the needs of those around you. You’ve been an incredible example not just to your family and friends, but even to me as your dad.

One of my greatest joys has been watching you raise two amazing children. I loved being a dad, but I had no idea how much fun it would be to be a grandpa—and that joy exists because of you.

Mady, thank you for the light and love you bring into our lives. I’m so proud of all that you’ve accomplished, and I’m so grateful to call you my daughter. ❤️
