On our way home from our whirlwind trip to Ashland, Oregon and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. After watching @rheabrdly in musical theater productions through the years, I never would have guessed how great she’d be at Shakespeare. #proudmom On a side note, Ashland is a beautiful place. I highly recommend stopping by and seeing some great theater if you are ever out this way. The repertory theater is the oldest in the country and they run productions March through October. The town itself is quite artsy and there are many great places to eat. I will need to eat lettuce for the next week. Morning Glory has the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. If you’re a quilter they have an awesome quilt shop too! by @stringbasschick

My tribute to Dolly Parton. I had all these half square triangles leftover from the butterfly quilts. I was going to make a couple bass bibs. Then I wondered if I had enough for a jacket. Then Dolly earned her wings. I didn’t have enough half squares so of course I had to buy more fabric. I was lucky to find some that worked well and it morphed into this. I don’t draw, but managed to draw a pattern for Dolly and I’m quite tickled with it. (As my mom used to say). The rhinestone butterflies were the best find. I put this quilt on the frame right before I broke my hip. I’ve been staring at it for 6 weeks, bummed I could not quilt it. I was able to today! by @stringbasschick

The marmalade muttonhead used his authority,
To rename a lake, as if that’s a priority.

“Beautiful and shining Great Lake,” Ontario is translated,
“But both countries are American,” his sycophants rage bait us.

The truth is the province was named for the lake!
Not the other way around, which is the uneducated take.

The name came from an indigenous Iroquoian word.
But facts don’t matter because we are living in times absurd.

And in other news, which is un-ignorable,
Our President continues with actions deplorable.

He threatens to tear down a building in all of its splendor,
If his name’s not engraved on the Kennedy Center.

Never mind our food is tainted as regulations are stripped,
As his family manipulates the market so they can get filthy rich.

Our Director of Health is not capable of informed thinking.
And Hegseth forgets those stranded on the Abraham Lincoln!

There’s no money for healthcare and kids can’t have SNAP,
But there’s $600 million for a ball room filled with fake gilded crap.

And let’s not forget the Epstein files-
Where he is mentioned countless times visiting Jeffrey’s isle.

Against scripture’s warnings, “Christians” defend his corruption,
Even though he uses their taxes for his unwieldy destruction.

I hope we all show up for the midterm elections,
Then move to impeach for democracy’s protection. by @stringbasschick
