I see a Broadway show and start wondering: What’s the theater’s capacity? The average ticket price? How many shows a week? What are they paying the actors? How much goes to advertising? What’s the rent? Who owns the theater?

I do the same thing at a comedy club. How many tickets are they selling? How much is the bar bringing in? What are they paying the comedian? How many sold out shows does it take to break even?

Please tell me I’m not the only person who does this. by @stripmallguy

I’m in our office elevator just now, and two employees in their 20’s are with their CEO in his 60’s.

He shares that people with $100k watches are ridiculous because their phone can tell time just as well, and that it’s a waste of money.

Of course they give him a loud courtesy laugh and say they totally agree (which of course they don’t).

I can’t help but chime in:

“Can’t the same thing be said about a Honda vs a Ferrari? They both get you from point A to point B, right?”

Silence all around. The elevator door opens, we all walk out.

My wife’s friend is a lawyer in New York City.

She’s incredibly busy and in the middle of a move, so she needs to rent a new apartment in an absolutely crazy market.

She gave Muse her criteria, and it reached out to a bunch of agents and set up five tours for this week.

She didn’t have to do anything.

She just has to show up. by @stripmallguy

We’re buying a home now.

Not because I think it’s a good deal or because I’m timing the market.

It’s just the right time for our family.

We paid a market price, but must admit it was nice not having to compete and deal w the emotional ups and downs of this process. by @stripmallguy
