Jessica’s recent highlights include leading roles in short films such as PIERROT (2026) and CIRCUITUS (2025), as well as appearing in Google’s Discovery to Decision commercial (2025) and immersive productions like THE STRANGER THINGS EXPERIENCE at Luna Park (2025). On stage, she directed and performed in HORSING AROUND (2026) and performed in NIDA productions including STALWART and ROCKSTARZ (2025, 2024).
Her early career was rooted in university revues, where she wrote and directed the sold-out BREAKING BONES (2021).

Our first cast member is Jessica Carter as Chorus 1: Blood On Teeth!

"This play so beautifully passes the Bechdel test. So many interesting strong female characters, taking up the archetypes that are male 99% of the time (killer-for-hire, amateur detective, ghost of the damned)."

Jessica Carter is a Filipino-Australian actress, voice artist, presenter and science communicator based in Sydney. She blends her biochemistry expertise with a passion for performance, and with training from UNSW, USYD and NIDA - she brings versatility and intellectual depth to every role.

Her recent highlights include leading roles in short films like Pierrot (2026) and Circuitus (2025), Google’s Discovery to Decision Commercial (2025), and immersive experiences such as the Stranger Things Experience at Luna Park (2025). On stage, she directed and starred in Horsing Around (2026) and shone in NIDA productions like Stalwart and ROCKSTARZ (2025, 2024). The early stage of her career centred around university revues, including writing and directing the sold-out Breaking Bones (2021), sparking her passion for writing, directing and devising theatre.

Jessica's favourite line? "I rejoiced no less than the sown earth is gladdened in heaven's refreshing rain"

"I'm excited to play a grimy and bloodthirsty character - really lean in to my goblin energy. I'm also so keen to learn some sick and nasty movement-based performance."

Jess would also like you to know that she can do the voices for all of the Mane 6 from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Icon behaviour.

64% of menstruators have struggled to afford period products due to cost (Share the Dignity, 2024). With the statistics being even worse for First Nations (83%) and gender diverse people (78%) as well as people with a disability or chronic illness (83%).

Check out more statistics and how you can make a change via the link in our bio. The reading will also be a space for people to ask questions in a judgement-free zone as well as receive free period products.

Did you know that Only 36% of respondents of the Bloody Big Survey (Share the Dignity, 2024) felt well-educated about menstruation before their first period.

Bloody Brilliant follows a group of high schoolers at a Catholic high school, where their sex ed preaches abstinence over anything else.

These teens seek to change that. Come join us on Friday the 3rd of July. Along with the play, we'll be sharing information about menstruation and offering a judgement-free space for questions. We'll also be handing out free period products.
