Maple Ridge is beautiful because of the people.

The children playing in the front yard. The neighbors walking their dogs at sunset. The family dinners, porch conversations, and quiet moments that make a neighborhood feel like home.

It is such a joy to tell the stories of this community I love and to celebrate the people who make it special.

One of the best parts of Stroll Maple Ridge is getting to walk alongside really good people. 🤍🤍

Such a fun afternoon at Brut Hotel bringing some of our Stroll business partners together for a little happy hour. Good conversations, new connections, lots of laughs, and a chance to spend time together without an agenda.

These are the people behind so many of the businesses that serve our community, and I love getting to create opportunities for them to know each other, too.

This is one of my favorite parts of what we do. 🥂

This year’s Maple Ridge Home & Garden Tour features five really wonderful homes, each with its own personality, story, and plenty of beautiful details to take in.

There’s just something special about getting to wander through this neighborhood, peek inside these beautiful homes, visit with neighbors, and experience a little of what makes Maple Ridge so loved.

I need to own a mistake.

When we scheduled this year’s Stroll Maple Ridge Dog Show, I failed to realize that our event falls on a Jewish holiday.

And, embarrassingly, this isn’t the first time I’ve made this mistake. A kind Maple Ridge resident brought a similar scheduling conflict to my attention in the past, which makes me even more disappointed that I didn’t catch it this time.

I am truly sorry.

The heart behind Stroll Maple Ridge has always been connection and community. I want every neighbor to feel seen, valued and included, and in this instance, I fell short of that.

To our Jewish friends and neighbors, I am especially sorry. You are an important part of what makes Maple Ridge the community we love.

I also want to do more than apologize. I would love to invite one or two of our Jewish neighbors to join our Maple Ridge Advisory Circle and lend their perspective as we plan events and look for ways to better serve and connect our neighborhood. If that is something you would be interested in, I would genuinely love to hear from you.

I’m grateful for a community that gives grace, speaks up and helps us do better. 🤍

Potential clients ask this question all the time:

“But does anyone really read the magazine?”

I could answer that question myself. But I think I’ll let our Maple Ridge neighbors answer it instead. 🤍

Our media team recently sat down with a few residents and asked them about Stroll Maple Ridge. I wasn’t prepared for how sweet their answers would be.

For six years, we’ve had the privilege of documenting this neighborhood, celebrating the people who call it home, and creating something that feels like it belongs to Maple Ridge.

I get asked all the time, “Do people actually read Stroll?”

Well… I was casually scrolling through the listing photos of a gorgeous Tulsa home and spotted something very familiar on the coffee table. Stroll Maple Ridge. 🤍

Now, I might know why this particular issue earned a spot on the coffee table. 🤭 But still, seeing our little magazine sitting there in a fabulous home across town absolutely made my day.

One of the greatest gifts Stroll Maple Ridge has given me over the past six years has been the chance to know the people who make this neighborhood so special.

Some of my favorite mornings have been spent over a cup of coffee, listening to stories about families, careers, traditions, historic homes, adventures, and the little moments that have shaped someone’s life. And I’d love to do more of that.

Whether you’re new to Maple Ridge, have lived here for decades, or we’ve waved across the street but never really had a chance to visit, I’d love to invite you to breakfast. There’s no agenda. No pressure. I simply love getting to know neighbors and hearing the stories that make this community feel like home.

Our first Maple Ridge Mixology was everything we hoped it would be and more! 🍸And our friends at @wolfgang__media were there to capture it all! 🤍

Neighbors gathered, new friendships were made, glasses were raised, and for a couple of hours, life slowed down just enough to enjoy being together. There was laughter, great conversation, delicious bites, and an incredible cocktail class led by Libby and Nick.

Together, they taught us how to make two delicious signature drinks: the Maple Ridge Mule and the Owasso Island Punch, a beautifully clarified Jungle Bird that was as impressive as it was delicious. Watching everyone learn, sip, and laugh together made for such a fun evening.

One of the greatest gifts of this neighborhood has always been the people. Creating opportunities to gather around a table and connect is exactly what Stroll Maple Ridge is all about.

Oh Louie… you’re a doll. 🐾

If you’ve picked up this month’s issue of Stroll Maple Ridge, you’ve probably already fallen for this sweet blue poodle with a mischievous streak. From stealing ripe tomatoes straight off the vine to charming everyone he meets, Louie proves that our pets have personalities as unique as the families who love them.
