Nothing like a backless gym top to remind you why walking away is a good look.
Shout out to those in their Escape Room era 🫡

POV: You've been in a rut.
The kind of rut that makes you question everything - from your deadlift technique to your life choices.

This summer didn't go to plan.
But I still showed up.
Sometimes just to sit on the floor mid-set and contemplate the meaning of it all.
But I showed up.
Kinda.

Maybe one day this strength will come in handy.
Like in a zombie apocalypse. Or IKEA on a Saturday.

For now though - at least I know I can rely on deadlifts to get me through a crisis.

Back goals? I don’t need Pinterest. 📌

I’ve got progressive overload, mild delusion 😵‍💫, and a lat pulldown machine. 💪🏽

Today’s pull workout was one of those rare days where the mirror gave me a tiny nod of approval — and yes, I’m riding that wave until further notice. 🫡🪞

The verdict from yesterday is in:
I regret coming back to the gym.

DOMS has taken over my glutes, my hamstrings, my quads and my personality.
But at least now I’ve got a valid excuse to cancel all weekend plans and embrace my true nature: antisocial butterfly 🦋

Let's try again for consistency next week 👀

She’s back.
Not with a bang — more of a light shuffle.
But back nonetheless.

First proper session in two weeks. New meds knocked me sideways, but we move (slowly).
Nothing heavy. Nothing heroic.
Just showing up, doing what I can — and trying not to spiral mid-set.

Because sometimes glute supersets feel like a full (mind and) body workout 😫🍑

🤔💭

Like... do I REALLY need to build a shelf? What am I going to put on it? Books? I'm more of an audiobook person nowadays anyway. 📚🤓

You might not see it at first.
But slow it down, squint, and maybe get NASA involved —
You’ll see that the floor and the plates were not in contact.
That counts right? 👀

Call it a stretch.
Call it a body check.
Call it “me casually assessing whether my training is working before I convince myself it isn’t.”
We’ve all done it.
Don’t lie.
😌✌️

When life imitates art... Or in this case, gym.

Me, emotionally: hanging on by a thread.
Me, physically: same.

Dead hangs.
The perfect exercise for when you want to look like you’re holding it all together 👀

Cable lateral raises: where ego goes to die. 🕊️

Shoutout to the 4.5kg stack for reminding me that strength is relative, and so is my dignity. ✌️

This weekend’s agenda:
✅ Sun
✅ Gym
✅ Emotional restraint
✅ Deleting numbers I have no business knowing by heart

Because progress isn’t always personal growth.
Sometimes it’s just clearing your contacts, throwing plates, and pretending you never saw the read receipt.

Happy healing. Or whatever.

50kg → 200kg ---- and let's not forget the actual weight of the leg press itself.

What's wild is these videos are exactly one year apart — and I didn’t even realise until I checked the first clip while editing.
13 May 2024 → 13 May 2025.

A year ago I was rebuilding from the start.
Just back into a consistent gym routine after my ICD surgery.
Still trying to process a heart condition diagnosis that basically told me intensity was off the table.

No more chasing heart-pounding sessions.
No more finishing soaked in sweat.
Progress was never going to be fast — but it could be consistent.

One year later, I’m still here.
Still training. Still adapting.
Still choosing consistency over intensity.

But more importantly: shoutout to my knees for consistently showing up. 🙌
