Just completed my second marathon and I’m excited to share that I achieved a personal best! The reality of a marathon hits hard at the 30km mark—when the doubts start creeping in and every negative thought seems to take over. 😂 This race was tough, especially battling through the cramps after 30km, but I stayed determined and pushed through.

Becoming a runner has changed my life in so many ways. I’ve discovered a strength within me that I didn’t know existed—I now believe in following through on my commitments, regardless of the challenges. Running has boosted my confidence and belief in myself, both in sport and in everyday life.

A heartfelt thank you to my wonderful friends who support me throughout this journey. Your motivation makes all the difference! Here’s to continuing this running journey and embracing every stride! 🏅#NelsonMandelaMarathon #MarathonJourney #PersonalBest #KeepGoing by @strongrico_cpt

My first Marathon — what a journey.

I joined a running crew just for the joy of running with others, and @fullsend.running Running Community made me fall in love with it even more. What started as fun and community slowly turned into something bigger, and before I knew it, I was training for a full marathon.

The race started beautifully, but at 25km the cramps hit hard. Every step after that was a battle, but the crowd, the supporters, Friends and the energy around me carried me to the finish line.

Painful, overwhelming, exciting, and unforgettable.

My first full marathon is one I’ll always remember

Small, consistent steps beat big bursts of effort. Patience is the anchor that keeps you moving forward

@rebirthbyrico by @strongrico_cpt

Today I wrapped up my third half marathon with a time of 1:49. It’s funny to think how far I’ve come—from that first 2:03 run to this 1:49 groove. Running has reshaped so much of my life and daily habits: steadier mornings, better focus, a kinder voice in my head during tough miles, and a stubborn belief that I’m capable of more than I think.

Big thanks to the small rituals that keep me going: a warm-up that actually feels like movement, fueling that doesn’t fight my stomach, and the quiet moments on the road where I remember why I started. To anyone chasing a goal—start where you are, be consistent, and celebrate every little improvement. This journey isn’t just about speed; it’s about showing up for yourself and turning “can’t” into “can.”

Here’s to more KM, more laughs, and more sunsets after long runs. See you at the next finish line. 🏁💙
