Guys,

we find ourselves surrounded by incredible support and it’s heartwarming.
While this project is still in its early stages and we’re discovering our rhythm, we couldn’t be more fortunate to have people in the industry and of course all of you supporting us and helping to expand our musical landscape and audience. We’re grateful for the love and appreciate your belief in our endeavors.

In this post we will share a few of these amazing people:

1- @groove_city_recordstore you guys have been amazing. Especially Anja
2 & 3- @michelle_records_hamburg thank you Christof for your unparalleled support and the article you wrote in MOPO. The article reads:

The esteemed label 30M Records, which releases contemporary Iranian music from Hamburg, has brought out this album titled “Piltan.” It is a collaboration between two producers: Rouzbeh Esfand from Iran and Patrick Stewart from New Zealand.
This album is a groovy block of electronic music that leans towards the darker side atmospherically. Built around contributions from renowned Iranian artists and sporadically interspersed with field recordings, this music touches the listener in a strangely compelling way.

4- @hanseplatte thank you for your amazing support

5- @30m_records our rock and foundation. Our gateway to our audience and our all time support the amazing Matthias.

We are writing this to say we appreciate your support and it means the world to us.

#NewNoise: Electronic Duo Esfand Debuts Iranian Folk-Inspired Techno Album ‘Piltan’

Netherlands-based electronic duo Esfand, made up of Iranian producer Rouzbeh and New Zealand-born artist Patrick Steward, has just released their debut album ‘Piltan’, an organic hybrid of traditional Iranian folk music and techno.

A flamboyantly danceable body of work, ‘Piltan’ sees the duo weaving hypnotic rhythms from contemporary Western club hits, with elements from traditional Persian music and vocals from famed exiled Iranian artists like Habib Meftah, Mohsen Namjoo and Misagh Mordi. Though it lacks any hints of ethno-kitsch, it introduces a unique ecstatic sound into the global electronic music scene.

Each of the eight songs boasts a sophisticated production that is a product of Rouzbeh’s years of research into the Iranian musical heritage. “Esfand started as my master’s thesis. We selected all the samples from a purely musical perspective. Though we didn’t focus on preserving the purity of the culture, we didn’t discard Iranian traditions, we simply kept the ones that fit best,” Rouzbeh tells SceneNoise. “At the end of the day, they are all just sounds.”

Out now! „Piltan“, the new single of the upcoming eponymous album by @esfand_music (14 june).

“Piltan” is the debut album of ESFAND: Folk meets Techno, millennia-old music meets Western club culture. With ESFAND, we prepare to get lost in the moment, surrender to the rhythm, regardless of our background. Letting go, switching off, no control of head and feet. That’s what ESFAND is about.

A unique blend of traditional Iranian sounds and contemporary electronic music, featuring vocal features by renowned Iranian artists. Ecstatic dance music to get lost in.

Their debut album “Piltan” is a flamboyantly danceable statement. No crossover kitsch. Pure instinct music. ESFAND is century- and boundary-crossing music.
