When I first started listening too the Grateful Dead it wasn't Jerry who drew me in. It was Bob Weir's completely unique style that dazzled my ears. He wasn't laying down a rhythm, he was throwing color and flourishes onto the music in the way Jackson Pollock threw paint on a canvas. His style of playing made me want to learn how to play the guitar.

From his terrible jokes to the hot pink guitar and cut up Madonna shirt; he was the anti-rock star, rock star and the absolute epitome of cool. I didn't expect this day would likely ever come. Although he wore his age for everyone to see, it still felt like he would just always be here playing a show somewhere.

Thank you, Bobby!!! NFA

Last summer Pablo focused on the basics of swimming. This year he worked on fine tuning his skills and trying to figure out how to get 2 balls in his mouth. He took the big step of learning how to hold his breath for an extended period during our #dogcation in August. Of course it's nothing too spectacular but although we've had many dogs that have loved the water, Pablo is only the second to summon the courage necessary to keep his head under until he finds what he's looking for. We were very proud of him.

Missing this little guy from the absolute bottom of my heart and soul. The pain of losing him has not gotten easier and will never go away. Some days, more than I can or want to bear. A heart that will never mend, and a soul that will always be incomplete. by @strutncrow

Les Claypool Fearless Flying Frog Brigade absolutely shredded the Masonic Temple last night. They are covering Pink Floyd Animals, bookended by FFFB songs that fit nearly seamlessly. I knew it would be good but WOW! Ive seen a lot of incredible shows in Detroit and this is on the short list at the top alongside people like Prince, David Bryne, Paul Simon. Yes, it was that good.

You don't hear the vibraphone at many rock concerts these days but Mike Dillon is masterful, letting numerous influences to craft some incredible solos.

And I don't know why it took someone so long but Claypool donning a disco ball helmet is genius. (last vid)
If these boys grace your city, state, geographical region, GO!!!

(Sorry that 2nd vid is sideways, or maybe I was sideways. It's tough to ever know the truth)
