The USA is a top destination for exchange students, and here’s why!

1️⃣OPPORTUNITY - Exchange students love to embrace the chance to try new things! They get to try subjects they’ve never studied before, like choir, photography, American history, as well as new sports like football and cheerleading. Who knows, they may just discover their lifelong passion while on exchange.

2️⃣SCHOOL SPIRIT - There’s nothing like the culture we have at high school in America! Friday night football games, spirit week, and prom are all new to exchange students, and it’s one of the top reasons why they come to the USA. They love how we take pride in our schools and students, and they want to be a part of it.

3️⃣HOSPITALITY - Americans are known as being warm and friendly, and there’s a reason for that! Exchange students are often surprised by how quickly they are embraced by their host family and community. It may take some students some time to get comfortable talking to new people, but they love how their American classmates are so open and outgoing!

4️⃣SCENERY - Whether you live in a big city or in the middle of nowhere, exchange students are excited to see all your community has to offer. From rolling hills to grassy plains, there’s natural beauty in every corner of America. They just love going on a drive to see the community, it doesn’t have to be anything fancy!

5️⃣VARIETY - Have you ever walked down the cereal aisle with an exchange student? Watch as their eyes go big, taking in all the options available to them! Exchange students are always awed at how much variety we have in our stores, and given the chance, they’ll try pretty much anything!

Exchange students create bridges between cities around the world!

Recently, Alice from Italy attended her host city's city council to meet the mayor. As a thank you for welcoming her into their community, Alice gifted the Mayor with a plaque from the mayor of her hometown in Italy! In return, she received a lovely tote bag to take back to her mayor in Italy when she returns home.

We know moments like these are ones our exchange students will never forget, and these gifts will be cherished by people around the world for years to come!
