Been not-so-secretly training for the last three months to attempt a 1 hr 30 min half marathon. It's been an uphill battle. (I won't get into it.) Anyway, I snagged a 01:27:48 in Manchester on Sunday, at the same event where I ran my first half marathon 3 years ago. They tell you that running is good for you. What they don't tell you is that it never ends.

Here's another thing about distance running. It's always too cold, and you spend four months training in the rain and the 'feels like 0°C' winds, wrapped in a sweaty thermal layer and beanie, feeling like a wet sausage roll, and everybody swears that's how they like it but they're all lying to you, then you stumble outside one afternoon and it's the 2nd of May and you've accidentally trained yourself out of being able to run in direct sunlight, just in time for your probably 4 hours of running in direct sunlight next weekend. Running is literally the worst (I kind of like it though) by @stuartpagewriter

Went to London. Saw Hades Town. Didn't take a whole lot of pictures. Lewis was also there. Frieda was also there. A cardboard cut out of Joe was also there. Could have been some other people, too. I dunno. London is a big place. Get off my back by @stuartpagewriter

weekend shenanigans

Went to Liverpool again. Didn't buy a cool record this time or go on the scary wheel during a storm. Did get upgraded to a family room with a busted toilet seat and grab pancakes for breakfast at our favourite plant based place. Completely buzzed about it. Now if you don't mind, I have a rock to crawl back under

First draft of dumb will-they-won't-they (delete the universe) sci-fi novel SPELLCHECK is officially past the halfway point at this stage. Well, who cares? I dunno, but I'm supposed to have an online presence innit. Anyway, I'd share a couple pages but I'm not convinced any of it is fit for public consumption. You'd probably puke if you read it. But some people like that in their fiction. It's called a Unique Selling Point, babyy

People often ask me what distance running is like. Well, it's mostly a lot of 'ok only 1km until HORSE' and 'wait where am I what town is this' and 'shall I pee here or there do I even have to pee at all is anything real are any of my feelings real' and actually I'm lying nobody asks me what running is like by @stuartpagewriter
