Wow. If you’d have told me 30 years ago I’d be featured in a book about Virginia Beach surfers I’d probably responded with a simple “Ok” followed by nervous laughter. Thank you to Jason Borte for including me. It’s been a wild ride from my beginnings at the 1st Jetty. I can only attribute it to a lot of perseverance and sheer dumb luck. Much love to all the people I had the privilege of collaborating with starting out. Zeke Sanders, Ian Parnell, Jason Griffith, Troy Hofheimer, Jeff Myers, Chris Todd, Cam Powell, Brian Braithwaite, Pete Viele, my brother Jason and Brian Townsend. Much thanks. “Life is kinda cool sometimes” - Mark Borchardt by @stublen1138

2025 was an incredible year for me work wise. One of the highlights was working on the In Depth series featuring Tatiana Weston-Webb, Albee Layer and Jill Perkins. The mini-docs followed each athlete through their day to day as they told stories of how they came into their selected sport and overcame adversities and relived achievements. Each episode is now playing on Rockstar Energy’s YouTube Page. As always thank you to @transitionproductions for having me on their team to tell unique and inspiring stories. by @stublen1138
