Five months after Butch Harmon met Tiger, I was working on Wailea’s Gold course, Emerald was being built. A player came over from another course and we got paired up with a black pro who told us he played the Asian tour. Back then things were not very diverse and there was still discrimination towards some minority groups in the golf world. We started our round, and the Asian tour golfer was tearing it up. At the end he had the course record and I was asked not to sign his card as an employee?! So I ended up giving him a ride to his car and that’s when he said. “I’m going to tell you about a kid who is going to be the greatest golfer to ever play, I’m friends with his parents and they live in California” I said “what’s his name” and when he told me I just laughed, and he said “yes, that’s his real name” and I just said “his name is Tiger?!?!” #pga #tigerwoods #golf #golfswing #golflife by @student.oftheswing
