And thank you for the honor and validation of 1st place in my category. Although it took me 50 years to post about it, here are some close up details and sneak peeks of the process.

This is an emotion portrait that I drew for someone last year. I feel it.

2026 has been nothing short of a tumultuous and chaotic time so far. The world is on fire, innocent people are suffering, and things are generally very not okay. A lot of very difficult things have been taking place in my personal life as well that add a heavy layer of grief and strife to it all.
It all has been making me question my place in this world and what it means to exist in a time like this. I haven't been making art for months now, and I don't feel okay about that either. I don't think I have the energy or will to push myself to make a career solely off of art anymore. It just doesn't matter like it used to. Instead I want to go back to the basics of creating for the sake of letting all of this steam out. Maybe you'll like it, maybe not. I don't care. I am filled with so much sadness, and weirdly enough, gratefulness as well. Life is weird and I have so many questions for God. Why why why why why why why why

I am typing this in the middle of having the anesthesia wear off and feeling goopy from the strong pain meds.
I will be okay and I will start making art again.

✨Art Blitz 6✨
Let me tell you what a journey those past 24 hours were! But first, thank you again @artblitzorl @im_johnq for having me. The work you put in to make these events happen does not go unnoticed. Thank you for bringing the community together in the name of art and good vibes (⁠◠⁠‿⁠・⁠)⁠—⁠☆
Although I didn't win this time around, I still feel that I won in many other ways. I made some new friends, potentially sold one of my pieces, and I got to prove to myself how strong I am!
Turns out I had a fever the entire show. No wonder my hips and knees were killing me 😭 Also, a huge brush fire broke out right behind my house the next day. Thankfully, I called in sick from work and was at home to be able to call 911 as soon as we noticed there was a fire. What the heck! Thank God no one was hurt and no damage was done to our house or our neighbors' houses.
As always, all the glory goes to God, the ultimate protector ♡

This concept has been rejected not once, but twice, for public art opportunities so I'm gonna throw it out here for y'all to finally see ✧⁠◝⁠(⁠⁰⁠▿⁠⁰⁠)⁠◜⁠✧
The second slide is the first version of this piece that I decided to push further when I had a chance to give it another shot.
If anyone is interested in large prints of the final design, lmk! I think this piece is worth being out there, despite the rejections. (⁠ ⁠ꈍ⁠ᴗ⁠ꈍ⁠)
