The interior is organised around a single idea — that practice and rest are not separate, but part of the same life. The open plan flows from kitchen to living to training within one continuous volume, allowing movement to occur naturally throughout the day.
Warm lime plaster, vertical oak cladding and pale hardwood floors create a tactile, calm environment. Natural light shifts across textured surfaces throughout the day, creating a quiet atmospheric quality that changes with the hours.
The barre sits along the plaster wall as furniture — present but not dominant. The organic timber-framed mirror beside it reads as an interior object rather than studio equipment. A home designed entirely around its resident — a dancer for whom movement is not separate from life, but inseparable from it.

Three organic residential blocks rise from the heart of Hatfield, their curved forms flowing into one another like waves in motion. The building emerges from a single idea — that architecture can be shaped by the movement of the human body. Every curve, every edge, every roofline follows the logic of dance.
A ribbed terracotta facade wraps the entire building in rhythm and texture, its horizontal bands catching light and shadow throughout the day, making the building alive at every hour. Each apartment claims its own pastel cantilever terrace — coral, lavender, mint, peach — projecting boldly from the facade like a dancer stepping forward from the corps.
At ground level the building opens to the city. A glazed dance studio faces the public realm, its curved glass wall revealing the rehearsals within — movement visible from the street at all hours. An outdoor amphitheatre curves around the studio, inviting the community of Hatfield to sit, watch and experience dance as part of everyday life.
The roofline shifts and steps between the three blocks, each at a different height, creating a dynamic silhouette against the sky. Green roofs crown the terraces, softening the terracotta with living texture. The building does not sit still — it performs.

The interior is designed as a calm, light-filled gallery environment organised around the courtyard as the central spatial element. Curved walls and sculpted openings create a soft circulation experience, encouraging slow movement and gradual encounters with art.

Filtered daylight enters through roof geometry, glass blocks, and courtyard openings, creating shifting shadows and a quiet atmospheric quality throughout the space. Inspired by abstract art relief, the interior translates depth, carving, and texture into architectural form while maintaining a restrained and minimal material palette.

Brick, timber, soft plaster tones, and textured surfaces create a tactile and human-scale environment that supports both exhibition and community use without competing visually with the artwork.

A contemporary extension to Courtyard Arts in Hertford, designed as a calm continuation of the existing historic courtyard fabric.

The project explores the dialogue between old and new architecture through curved roof geometry, layered brickwork, and sculpted openings inspired by abstract art relief and historic masonry depth. Rather than using ornament directly, the façade translates carving, shadow, and texture into a contemporary architectural language.

The extension is organised around a semi-private courtyard that acts as both a social and exhibition space, creating visual connections between art, landscape, and architecture. A restrained material palette of brick, glass, and standing seam metal roofing reinforces the project’s quiet and contextual presence within Hertford’s historic urban fabric.

A conceptual retro-futurist home created for a fictional musician. The project explores flowing organic forms, space-age inspired interiors, and nostalgic colours to recreate how the past imagined the future — soft, cinematic, expressive, and full of optimism.

This project was designed as a fictional home and creative retreat for a musician, inspired by retro-futurism and vintage visions of the future. The architecture combines soft flowing forms, rounded windows, and pastel colours to create a nostalgic yet futuristic atmosphere.

The organic shape of the building reflects movement and rhythm, almost resembling sound waves or a sculpted piece of music itself. Inspired by 1960s–70s space-age aesthetics, the design avoids sharp edges and instead focuses on smooth continuous curves to create a playful and expressive identity.

The mint-green exterior with red and gold accents reinforces the retro-futurist character, blending futuristic imagination with the warmth and optimism of past design eras.
