Domino, 2026 •⁠ ⁠ Voila, an A.mi recurring star - the under bench curtain. ⁠ ⁠ In our last images to share here of the kitchen at Domino, we used this to conceal easy-access storage, while visually softening the hard surfaces of a U-shaped kitchen. Domino, 2026 •⁠ ⁠ So happy to finally share the first look at Domino, a small-scale residential renovation and furnishing project designed back in early 2024.⁠ ⁠ The brief was for a colourful, eclectic, cottage-style leaning home for a young family of three. Taking inspiration from one of the client's watercolour practice, we approached the interiors much like a painting - layering colour, texture, material and light to create something playful without sacrificing restraint, and sophisticated without ever feeling serious.⁠ ⁠ The result is a home where refinement sits alongside imperfection, and where the beautiful mess of life is embraced rather than battled.⁠ ⁠ First up, the kitchen - deep wheat-toned limewash, butter-yellow cabinetry, hand-trowelled finishes and a wildly expressive Calacatta Gold. Bluestone House, 2026 •⁠ ⁠ With a blue reminiscent of Joan Miró's 1925 painting 'Photo : ceci est la couleur de mes rêves' ("Photo: This Is the Color of My Dreams") the main bedroom at Bluestone house is dreamily coloured. Bluestone House, 2026 •⁠ ⁠ Last one for this week, and almost halfway through the small selection of images we will be sharing of this special project for now.⁠ ⁠ Another before and after - the bathroom. When we first saw the existing leadlight window at the end of the existing bathroom, despite it being in mild disrepair, we told our client that he absolutely had to keep it. Impressively he did find a way, all through doing the entire build with his own two hands.⁠ ⁠ I was admittedly dubious when he first suggested using Delft-style tiles in combination with the stainless steel vanity, telling him I was worried it was one step too far in the clashing of materials. But once we mocked it up, introduced some other hand painted tiles along the walls, and had a proper visualisation of it all in the space, it was, clearly and plainly - absolute fire.⁠ ⁠ The result speaks to the concept of the home - Tat London - and their self-proclaimed "off-kilter" style. Bluestone House, 2026 •⁠ ⁠ Welcome to the first look at ⁠Bluestone House, a project designed collaboratively last year with a second time client.⁠ ⁠ Inspired by the eclectic, nostalgic style of Tat London and their playful pairings of antiques and seemingly incongruous materials, the renovation of this 1800s bluestone worker's cottage is a celebration of spaces that feel lived in and the perfectly imperfect.⁠ ⁠ The largest intervention of the home was a micro extension within the existing kitchen lean-to: a glass atrium, flooding the previously dark space with light, and allowing for a dining nook.⁠ A new stainless steel kitchen combined with new tumbled stone cabochon flooring transforms what once seemed like an afterthought area into one of the strongest features of the home.⁠ ⁠ Photography: @matthewmcquiggan⁠ Styling: A.mi Project creative direction: Client, A.mi⁠ Planning and documentation: A.mi⁠ Finishes and lighting: Client, Carla Milentis, A.mi⁠ Furniture and decoration: Client, Carla Milentis Built: Client⁠ Dining banquette fabrication: Client⁠ Ami project team: Elle Ross, Anouska Milstein⁠ ⁠ More: @bluestone__house by @studio.a.mi

Think Like An Interior Designer • Episode 2: Collecting Objects. When I started thinking about this episode, it began simply with what qualities in objects people might look out for. But the more I thought about it, the more it became about how we, as humans, develop “an eye” for things. The resulting episode doesn’t at all pander to social media’s want for a “quick fix”, but I hope that for those in our audience who are willing to see developing unique taste as a lifelong pursuit (and a joyful one at that), this might start you on your journey... or encourage you to reignite it.
