🍅Heirloom Tomato beauty at their peak! 🍅Made a quick gazpacho from the yellow variety with corn, peppers and lime. 🍋‍🟩 Recipe below.
2 golden medium sized heirloom tomatoes, roughly chopped
1 yellow pepper, seeded and chopped
1 ear of corn, shucked and kernels removed.
1 jalapeño, chopped up, seeds removed if you don’t like spice
1 lime
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more as needed to drizzle
salt and black pepper to taste

Whiz it all up in a blender. Add a little iced water if too thick. Season with salt & pepper 💛 by @studio.bailey

A recipe for earl grey tea and five spice carrot cake up on the Substack. Five spice is a beautiful traditional Chinese combination reflecting the five elements. Wood, fire, earth, metal & water. The flavors that represent those elements sweet, bitter, salty, sour & savory. It’s a lovely balance with the hint of tea. I love collecting spices and experimenting with them, which is one of the reasons I designed a shallow pantry in my kitchen and it is one of my favorite things. 🧡 by @studio.bailey

My favorite golden summer curry. See my latest Substack for the curry paste recipe and add whatever veg or protein, along with coconut milk. I was lucky enough to try a beautiful African leaf Efo Shoko(Lagos spinach) grown by @amenddetroit community garden and added it in at the end. 🧡🌞💛🌻 by @studio.bailey

Green foods in spring are especially nourishing. They arrive precisely when we most need them for renewal. To eat seasonally is to remember that we are part of the same cycles as the earth itself. Spring invites us to release stagnation, nourish new growth, and create space for what wants to bloom. Recipes up on Substack soon 💚

A recent residential mural I painted. Murals don’t always need to take over a space, sometimes the most beautiful ones simply frame a small detail, adding a little atmosphere.

Feel free to DM me about commissions. ✨ by @studio.bailey

Turmeric, Curcuma longa, a rhizome in the ginger family, Zingiberaceae grows underground, sending up broad green leaves and pale flowers, but its true treasure is in the root. Native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. The intense yellow comes from curcuminoids, compounds that evolved as protective chemistry for the plant and became a protective ingredient for us. It has wonderful medicinal benefits and a warming winter spice. Recipes up on Substack today. 💛🌱🔥 A golden turmeric roasted beet hummus, a lemon, turmeric ginger einkorn loaf sweetened with maple sugar and a warming winter rice golden bowl. Let me know if you try! X link in bio by @studio.bailey
