„Childhood-machine“
Installation consisting of a BMW-Wiper, a chain and a torch/ 2024 / courtesy of the artist.

As a child, my father would often send me down to the cellar, armed with nothing but a flashlight, to retrieve various objects. The coordination between the beam of light, trembling in my hand, and the focal point of my gaze was never fully aligned — resulting in a disjointed, almost erratic interplay of illumination and disorientation. It is precisely this clumsy, stumbling choreography between eye and light source that I sought to translate into the visual language of this work.

This work formed part of the group-Show „S.E.R.G.E.“, a collective exploration dedicated to tracing „the search“ for ‘substance‘— both material and metaphorical — within contemporary artistic practice. The four artists Lluis Martínez, Maria Schneider, Simon Storz and Paul Lässer with whom I had the privilege of sharing this space became, during that period, a source of profound learning and inspiration. It was an incredibly dynamic and playful process, one that has left a lasting imprint on my way of thinking and making. I remain deeply grateful to my fellow artists, all the musicians and everyone who visited the exhibition. Thanks a lot
