Designing with nature.

Our latest short film explores the thinking behind The Garden Brewery project and the role landscape can play in responding to climate challenges in cities.

For us, landscape architecture is not simply about creating spaces. It is about establishing the conditions through which nature can recover, adapt, and evolve over time.

The project demonstrates how soil restoration, tree canopy, water management, and passive cooling strategies can transform a former asphalt site into a functioning urban ecosystem.

The Garden Brewery project began with a simple question:

What happens when asphalt is removed and we let nature return?

Located on a former industrial parking lot in Zagreb, the project transforms a sealed surface into a living landscape that cools, infiltrates water, supports biodiversity, and creates more comfortable conditions for nature and people.

Rather than starting with form, the project began with soil, water, vegetation, and time.

Today, what was once asphalt functions as a beer garden, gathering space, habitat, and climate-responsive landscape.

In a warming climate, landscape can no longer be understood as decoration. It is the foundation of healthier, cooler, and more resilient places to live.

Last night we had the pleasure of attending the opening of Revisiting Richter by @prostoria at @oris_house_of_architecture.

Vjenceslav Richter was one of Croatia’s most consequential modernist voices - an architect, artist, and designer whose furniture remained largely unrealised during his lifetime. Not for lack of vision, but perhaps an excess of it. Through rigorous archival research and creative collaboration with studios Numen/ForUse, Neisako and Grupa, Prostoria has brought 20 pieces across five collections into production for the very first time.

To stand in that space last night was to understand something about the patience of good ideas. Richter’s forms - spare, considered, quietly radical - felt entirely of this moment. As if the decades between conception and realisation were simply part of the design process.

This is what it means to honour a legacy without preserving it under glass.

There is a word we overuse in architecture.
Presentation.

As if the work were already complete, and communication were merely its decoration. A final layer. An afterthought dressed in good typography.
But communication is not decoration.
It is load-bearing.

The narrative built around a project determines how it is photographed, how it is featured, how it is remembered - and, quietly, which clients find their way to you next.

Studio Spotlight: Palma

Three architects from Mexico City who started a studio straight out of UNAM, and quietly became one of the most interesting practices in the country.

Palma doesn’t begin with the building. They begin with the question. What does it mean to live somewhere, not just stay? What happens when a structure refuses to belong to one typology? What can a temporary installation teach a permanent building?

The answers show up across their work - a coastal complex that’s part house, part hotel, entirely undefined. A 50sqm bungalow designed through climate as the primary driver. A boutique hotel descending into the jungle, where the environment shapes much of the experience. Two houses that engage with the landscape directly, balancing raw materiality with refined simplicity. A brick installation in the passage of an old Spanish tobacco factory that turned visitors into inhabitants.

Clarity, curiosity, and a deep respect for context, that’s the thread running through all of it.

Rising above the Hudson River, One High Line redefines contemporary residential architecture along Manhattan’s West Side.

Designed by @big_builds, the twisting twin towers respond to their urban context while framing dynamic views of the city and the High Line.

The 2026 Pritzker Architecture Prize has been awarded to Chilean architect Smiljan Radić, recognizing a body of work that challenges conventional notions of permanence, materiality, and architectural expression.

Radić’s architecture operates in a space between fragility and monumentality, often drawing from landscape, memory, and cultural context to create spaces that feel both experimental and deeply human.

From the iconic Serpentine Gallery Pavilion (2014) to projects such as the Vik Millahue Winery and Teatro Regional del Biobío, his work demonstrates a careful balance between craft, atmosphere, and conceptual clarity. Rather than pursuing spectacle, Radić’s architecture invites reflection, prioritising experience, material intelligence, and a profound sensitivity to place.
