As part of our two-week residency at @lesigne_cndg in April with @jahahanice, we explored the postage stamp as graphic matter. The research developed into three posters, each focusing on a different way of working with the stamp as a visual element.

affiche A — la grille
The poster references the postage stamp sheet as a graphic system. The developed system on the poster contains three parameters, that take influence on three seperate inputs, which altogether become the basis for generated composition.

affiche B — la libre
The stamp is freed from its conventional boundaries. Shapes, fragments and colours move across the surface, creating a more open and fluid composition.

affiche C — l’échelle
The scale of the stamp becomes the subject. A grid cell was extracted from the sheet and scaled up.

🔎 Graphisme XS 🔍

Comment raconter toute une histoire sur quelques centimètres carrés ?

En 2024, le studio kollygujer (Svenja Kolly & Mia Gujer) mène une recherche sur les timbres suisses. Ce travail les conduit à concevoir le timbre «Jubiläumsbriefmarke », créé pour célébrer les 175 ans de la Poste suisse.

En explorant les riches archives philatéliques de la Poste suisse, elles portent un regard de graphistes sur ce minuscule support d'expression. Cette recherche donne naissance à l'exposition et à la publication GraphicDesign.Zip, consacrées à l'un des plus petits supports de design graphique.

L'exposition réunit près de 40 timbres dits spéciaux, créés entre 1957 et 2024 par des graphistes et artistes suisses, sélectionnés par kollygujer. On y découvre notamment des créations de Pipilotti Rist [@pipilotti_rist_studio] , Ralph Schraivogel [@ralph_schraivogel], Anna Haas [@haas.a.anna], Niklaus Troxler [@troxlerniklaus], Rosmarie Tissi, Erich Brechbühl [@erichbrechbuhl], Balmer Hählen [@balmerhahlen], et bien d'autres.

Back in February we had the opportunity to present our blanket Zzz as part of the Home–Home exhibition curated by @akasaki_vanhuyse in Tokyo.

Gathering 16 designers and visual artists from across the globe, the exhibition celebrated creative connections fostered through travel and cultural exchange with Japan. The works were presented at @bundle_gallery_, located in a modernist house designed by architect Ren Suzuki in 1974.

Zzz is a knitted blanket, translating recorded sleep data into a tactile structure through creative coding.
The three values — sleep duration, sleep phases
and nocturnal movement — merge into a continuous
knitted surface, no longer read as separate layers
but as one evolving pattern.
The blanket becomes a physical manifestation of an invisible, cyclical process, shifting data visualisation from the screen into a soft, bodily and domestic object.
