Thank you to everyone who came to SOOOON SPACE on August 22 and made this night so special. It was unforgettable to see so many beautiful people, familiar and new faces, watching, listening and sharing the evening with us.

A huge thank you to everyone who came for the opening of Eleven Sons by @bareboyslab, curated by Vladimir Vanenkov @vanenkov and Konstantin Bushmanov @k______b. Seeing the project come alive surrounded by so many people meant a lot to us.

ELEVEN SONS by @bareboyslab

Eleven Sons brings together fragments from bareboyslab’s evolving archive of images, studies and experiments.
Borrowing its title and structure from Franz Kafka’s Eleven Sons, the exhibition considers the archive through repetition, comparison and the judging gaze, where desire, memory and projection shape how bodies and images are perceived.

bareboyslab is an open laboratory across photography, fine art and performance, curated by Vladimir Vanenkov @vanenkov and Konstantin Bushmanov @k______b. At its center is the encounter between camera, subject and viewer, and the image that emerges between them.

bareboyslab is an open laboratory of fine art, photography and performance, curated by artists Vladimir Vanenkov @vanenkov and Konstantin Bushmanov @k______b. At the center of the laboratory is a practice of working with boys, primarily non-professional models, where the camera becomes not so much a tool for documentation as a means of encounter and a shared exploration of the image.
The practice moves away from conventional acting and predetermined outcomes in favor of repetition, simple actions and a state in which a person stops performing themselves and simply begins to be present.

On August 22, bareboyslab presents its current state through Eleven Sons — a one-day exhibition and presentation of the laboratory, unfolding as an ever-growing archive. Photographs are assembled into series, transformed into objects and combined with texts, existing between portrait and catalogue, personal encounter and a display of images.

The installation combines structural elements from mechanisms intended for the human body, ranging from orthopaedic apparatuses and sixteenth-century torture devices to sports equipment. Its rotational mechanism is derived from a children’s playground merry-go-round.

The performance functions as operating instructions for the installation. Precise positioning of the body is intended to facilitate complete relaxation and entrust the body to the object.

The exhibition looks at the animal side of humans through the image of a cage — real and symbolic.
The cage is more than a barrier: it becomes a place of attachment, false safety, habit, and longing for submission. It seeps into daily life, relationships, and society — a quiet form of power that both shields and suffocates.
Photographs and videos show different states of confinement and how they change the one inside. They expose the endless pair: hunter and hunted, ruler and ruled, violence made acceptable — from farming to intimate games where dominance hides as choice or need.
Kristina forces us to look at what we usually avoid.

Vera will share the personal story behind her work, as well as the themes she is developing in Tbilisi — the boundaries of visibility, isolation, and the inner darkness that consumes the self.

SHAME — Militsa Clifford @crystal_sexy_doll

SOOOON Space presents SHAME, a solo exhibition by Militsa Clifford (Kroshkina) — an artist who places the body at the center of her practice. Her own and that of others. Vulnerable and powerful. Real and constructed.

Working across photography, painting, and performance, Militsa explores intimacy, identity, and the everyday realities of female experience. Nudity, color, and staged appearances are not provocation, but tools — a language through which she speaks about freedom, boundaries, and self-expression.

In her work, the body becomes more than an image. It becomes a space for observation, reflection, and dialogue — inviting each viewer to find their own point of connection.

Kaunas-born, London-based experimental filmmaker and photographer. Her DJ sets fuse experimental electronica with film dialogues, field recordings and dancefloor energy. Collage-like mixes exploring identity, repetition and city narratives — a girl’s night walk through fragmented worlds.

Mtatsminda Turn is the first body of work made through a process of layered oil transfer and procedural distancing. The paintings depict a view from a single window, photographed over four years as a factual record of a place in time. The subject inevitably shifts the question of authorship into one of ownership. Material distancing introduced at every stage of the process is an attempt to relinquish claims to the image and the place it represents. What remains is a record made from a position that is neither fully participatory nor estranged, oscillating between belonging and trespassing.

Anton Calmîș (b. 1997) is a painter based in Tbilisi, Georgia. His work begins with a film image shot from the hip or with an extended hand. Over the course of months, the image is processed: developed, scanned, printed, transferred, layered, scraped, and incised. Each step introduces a new dimension of distancing, relinquishing a degree of authorship and control, until what remains is the accretion and residue of these operations. In his work, Calmîș asks what happens to the image under this double pressure of distancing and care, when it is held in extended time, worked and reworked through error, bodily gestures, and sustained attention. Distance is the underlying subject of his practice, taken up across successive bodies of work in different domains.
Calmîș has previously exhibited at Sisters Room, Tbilisi, Georgia (2025), and Weserhalle, Berlin, Germany (2024). His work has been published in RUNT Magazine, Issue 3: DOGFIGHT (2025).
