Art vs Artist 2023 🎨

As the end of the year is near, it is time for the Art vs Artist tradition - and a first shot for me!

Seems like I still didn't manage to post more often this year, but I find that my recent illustrations show more dedication, improvement, and vibrancy 🙏

Next year? Keep exploring in that direction.
Also, perhaps it is a good time to finally tackle animation with Procreate Dreams... 👀

I’m a little late with this one, but this illustration didn’t quite go according to plan 🎃

Remember the little guy I drew for Ristretto? I was originally going to follow him up with a matcha girl, and somehow my People as Coffee series was slowly turning into something else entirely. ☕️

Then I noticed this challenge and especially the entry “Pumpkin Spice and Treat Myself Nice” and decided to change course. So the matcha girl became a pumpkin spice girl instead.

Which, in the end, brought me right back to where I started with the series. Funny how that worked out.

As usual, I start drawing DURING the deadline and never manage to finish on time, so I'm a little late for some...

I started drawing this entry for #ourplanetweek2026 / “Ocean Glowing”, and as usual it took more time than expected...

This one is really tied to a place I keep going back, those long long quiet beaches on the wild coast on the west of France.

Everytime I walk to the beach past the dune, I get overwhelmed by the glimmering light on the water, and I thought it was a great occasion to draw all these textures. I got inspired a lot by @liliwood_studio and how she draws all the nuances within the water 🌊

And it always feels the same, calm and simple. Even more when you have a partner to surf with 🏄‍♂️

Of course I am bit late again for #timetobloom26 even if I swore I would be in time 😮‍💨

I was immediately inspired by “let yourself bloom”, by this idea of a big blooming bouquet, and I’m actually really proud of this one. It came out pretty close to what I had in mind. 💐

I’ve been experimenting a lot with this more "watercolor" texture (you can see it in the timelapse), and I feel like it finally clicked here.

I was already late for #SelfloveFebruary2026 when I discovered the challenge, but I'm still here!

I’m joining the “Fill my cup” entry with this little guy on his way to drink a ristretto. Really proud of how it rendered, especially because I changed the composition a lot during the drawing : first a beard then the mustache, no coffee cup then a coffee cup right after I finished everything,... but I love the result!

This is also the start of a series I’ve been wanting to do for a while:

As usual, I felt really inspired by the new @charlyclements #portraitparty challenge: vintage, red lipstick, peach.

The “Vintage” prompt is always a bit tricky for me. When does vintage actually start, and when does it stop? And what even makes it different from "retro"? Well I immediately thought of the strong design we all know 💪

And where’s the peach?
I actually drew another version where she was eating one, but I couldn’t get the posture right. So I went for the simpler, more iconic pose instead. The peach didn’t disappear though, it became the background color.

Finally took the time to draw a bit for #fiercefaces #fiercefaces26 by @heyzoish

I went with something calm and cozy, inspired by the snowy days we had in Paris this week, warm layers, and a small silky scarf, that make winter feel a bit nicer ❄️

December was a bit intense, so I only managed to finish ONE Christmas illustration this year, but I’m still really happy with how festive this one feels 🎄

I ended up mixing a few challenges together, and I meant to post it a few days ago, but here is is!

🍪 The magic cookies from #drawthemagicdecember and gingerbread from @lydiaburton.art #sillycember2025 were the perfect excuse to add this cute gingerbread earring, paired with a festive fit/jumper from #12DaysOfCreativeCheer2025 that felt just right for the season.

Winter Wonderland by Michael Bublé was on repeat while drawing, it fit the mood a little too well for #merrymelodies2025 🎶❄️

Last Facetober entry, and I wanted to go out with a bang 👻

For once, I drew a man (and maybe he looks a bit like me, who knows). The prompts were Ghost, black hair, and retro glasses, and I mixed them with today’s Inktober theme, Skeletal.

Definitely a spooky one, with a little “Memento Mori” pin to top it off… brrrr 💀

I was so excited to draw this one, and I have to admit it’s one of my favorites so far in #factober

The Tarraleah brush hits just so fine for the background 🤌

Perfect way to enter spooky week! 🐍🖤

Horns, tattoos, space buns, and a darker but calm vibe that I really like.

It’s also a DTIYS from @charlyclements, so a double Charly Clements challenge after all!

When I saw this DTIYS by @halber.mensch, I instantly knew I wanted to give it a witchy/ spooky twist for this Inktober season 🐍✨

I mixed in some of the Facetober prompts by @charlyclements (wavy hair, crescent moon, and sparkles) and honestly, I’m quite happy with how it turned out. Of course I was a bit rushed, so I could not refine as much as I wanted, but that's the challenge after all!

This one definitely tested my patience (all those patterns on the snake!), and it taught me a lot too… Procreate’s fusion masks logic melts my brain.
