Stop telling me summer is over—California summer is still going strong!
Between Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe, and Catalina, skipping Europe this year was definitely the right move. I’m holding onto the al fresco dinners, garden harvests, and outdoor showers until at least October.
It’s honestly how I love to design: spaces made for easy entertaining and soaking up the outdoors, keeping that relaxed California feel with plenty of personality and style. by @studio.zimmermann

Install week on site. The messy phase is almost behind us—custom millwork is going in, plaster paint is dry, and the hardware and lighting are finally finding their places. A lot of curves, natural wood, and zero safe choices by @studio.zimmermann

A finished project
A project soon to be ready for install
And a much needed trip to NYC inspired by art design and lots of me time at many different bars with great food, martini in one hand and a kindle in the other. Swipe through to see some of the art and design that had caught my eye looking to integrate in current and future projects. by @studio.zimmermann

Scroll for the before and afters of this recently completed project in Palos Verdes Estates.
When the owners bought the house, the 2nd story deck was literally rotting away from termites. We had to tear the whole thing down and start from scratch. Dealing with the Art Jury was no walk in the park, but we pulled it off.
The deck below with the new fireplace is now a beautiful outdoor living room ready for romantic evenings or chic parties with friends. taken in Palos Verdes Estates, California by @studio.zimmermann

Luis Barragán has always been a favorite. His buildings are so minimal yet incredibly courageous with color. Visiting Casa Gilardi in CDMX was an absolute treat—seeing that light and those unexpected tones in person was everything. I’m already planning my next trip back to see the rest of his work. 🇲🇽✨ by @studio.zimmermann

We are mid-demo on our 1930s Spanish kitchen revamp.
Electrical is wrapped, and we’re officially onto the best part: final finishes. We’re leaning into those classic terracotta stars and fresh sage geometrics to keep the soul of the house alive.
It’s honestly going to be too pretty to cook in... almost.
Appliances and fixtures are on order. Stay tuned for the transformation.

Too often, we let ourselves be micromanaged or influenced by outside noise, losing that spark of freedom in the process. That’s why working with clients who truly trust your vision is such a breath of fresh air.
I’m looking back at this lounge I created for a project a while ago, and it feels more relevant than ever. This was designed as the ultimate “hang space”—a place where friends could get lost in music for hours. With listening lounges trending in bars and homes again, I’m so glad we went bold by @studio.zimmermann
