What began as Dallas’ first hospital for African Americans, founded by Dr. Benjamin Bluitt, the city’s first African American surgeon, now houses our design studio. While its purpose has evolved, the story is far from over.

We’re kicking off a new series highlighting the renovations and design details that transformed this historic space into our Dallas headquarters. From structural updates to thoughtful finishes, it’s a space that reflects where we’re going while honoring where it’s been.

Follow along as we take you behind the scenes. by @studio11design_

Look up.

At Laurel inside The Talbott Hotel, a hand-painted ceiling piece by Lou Verne brings an unexpected moment of artistry overhead, complementing the bar’s nod to Chicago’s Gold Coast.

It’s a mood, not a moment.

Every selection is intentional, every material is handpicked by our designers. A little glimpse into a Studio 11 Design project we are keeping under wraps.

A throwback worth revisiting.

Inspired by poolside Positano, this @dwellwithdignity vignette came to life through bold pattern, lush greenery and sun-soaked color, with the help of our incredible sponsors.

For The Tess, Autograph Collection, LCM followed Studio 11 Design’s distinctive vision, building pieces that carry their character throughout the guestrooms.

Formerly known as Thompson Buckhead, the rooms feature curved casegoods, deep green cabinetry, stone-topped surfaces, warm metal details, and integrated bedside elements, giving them a polished residential quality.

Our process-driven approach brings engineering, manufacturing, and quality oversight together so the design retains its intent.

A little design challenge from our Dallas headquarters.

Hidden within the rug are a few words that feel right at home at Studio 11. How many can you find?

Hint: STUDIO, GRAHAM, DALLAS, REID + 2011.

A huge thank you to @nourisonhospitality for this beautiful rug! It truly makes our space that much more special.

Save this post, zoom in, and let us know when you find them all.
