Never released photos. A year ago today we were experiencing a VERY windy day on the Salt Flats and decided to move our shoot over to the Wendover airfield. The historic airfield has been used as the backdrop for many movies including the 1997 Nicolas Cage movie, Con Air. These photos including the interior shots were taken with the Jail Bird airplane used as a prop for the movie.

I have had this photoshoot in my head for quite some time, and a few weeks ago I finally got to put it all together. Everything really came together. From the very windy weather to the clouds. From the landscape and, of course, to my amazing photo subject, Miranda Huizing, everything just clicked.

Ladies, get you a man in uniform… or just become the man in uniform 🫡

Joking aside, I am forever grateful to the men and women who actually serve and risk their lives to protect us and our country. ❤️🇺🇸
◈
Built between 1853 and 1861, Fort Point was constructed to defend the entrance to San Francisco Bay from naval attack and was fully armed during the Civil War. An interesting fact I learned was that the cannons never actually fired in battle! Today, Fort Point stands as a National Historic Site beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, preserving a unique piece of San Francisco’s military history.

And yes, this is a real military uniform. It was itchy.
