Oregon bound!!
It’s been a whirlwind and I honestly have had no time or bandwidth to post. But we were supposed to leave yesterday on the 15th. But then the weather was going to be in the single digits in Louisville and we changed our departure to Saturday.
We are currently on day 4 of a 9 day journey to Eugene OR. We are in Amarillo TX. I found a fuel leak yesterday when we were filling up in Elk City OK. Long story, but we had the truck serviced in Louisville before our journey and so I called them yesterday to tell them I had an issue and the mechanic felt like it was fuel filter that was not tight enough. They agreed to pay to get it fixed here in TX. So thankful!
So I’m at a Dodge dealership now getting it fixed in hopes we can still leave today and head to Albuquerque.
The weather has been nuts! Our 1st stop was on the border of Memphis TN and AR. That night we had 32 mph winds and we woke up to temps that felt like -2 degrees.

I am excited to share that I am building an app called The Atelier Hive - where creativity takes flight. 🐝💛It is a creative space to designed to support middle in high school homeschoolers and young artists in general, who are passionate about 3-D art such as jewelry, leather, fibers and sculpture. Each lesson blends art history with hands-on technical research samples (TRS) and guided experimentation, helping students explore techniques, build confidence and create work they are proud of. Life on the road has it's up's and down's. It's still life and life can be difficult.
In the last month we have been struggling with a very sick furbaby. Sasha became sick suddenly a month ago and we have been through 3 vets to figure out what was wrong.
She went from being a happy, energetic little chi, to a very sick pup struggling to survive.
The 3rd clinic finally diagnosed what 2 other vets missed. She had an obstruction in her intestine and surgery revealed that part of her intestine was severely damaged from lack of blood flow.
She was at the hospital for 4 days. A week after her surgery her intestine was slowly healing but she was still not herself and losing weight fast. She went from 8lbs. to 5lbs. which is a lot of weight for such a tiny being.
The vet felt we were still missing something and they did a deeper dive into her bloodwork and got a pathologist to read the results.
We found out our sweet little chi has stage 3 renal disease. We were devastated, but at least we finally knew why she was so sick and getting worse.
She is stable now and eating, but kidney disease is not curable and we have had to make peace with the fact that our time with her is limited.
Everyday is filled with extra cuddles, kisses and lots of love. Knowing that we don't have the time we thought we had.
It's so hard to anticipate another deep loss in my life right now. This little chi has been such a large presence in my life for 13 yrs and to think that I will have to say goodbye sooner than I was planning, is such deep sorrow.
Just another reminder that things change quickly and we have to love deeply and with the knowing that we may not have as much time as we think.

Happy Sunday!

I've showed you the outside pic of our rig, and so I thought it was time to give a tour of the inside.
It's taken so much work and purging to make an RV a home. We still have my nephew, Asher's bunk area to finish but we will do that when we get to Oregon so he can be involved. Right now it's storage.
We have a 40ft, 2021 Grand Design Solitude-S. It has a bath and a 1/2, a dishwasher, 4 slide-outs and lots of windows and lighting. It's roughly 400 sq. ft.
What I will say about living in a small space is that it puts things into perspective. It makes you rethink and re-evaluate what is actually important and what you really need to live.
We realized when we sold our home, how much stuff we had that wasn't even being used and how much crap we had. Now we purchase what we need and we live with purpose. That doesn't mean that it's always easy but it's a trade off we don't mind.
