Statement from Studio6 When moral dilemmas arise in business, we look to our mission for guidance. Studio6 was created as “a gallery unlike any other” — a place where art is experienced, not just observed.” A place for artists and collectors to meet, exchange ideas, challenge convention and be part of the conversation. The conversation surrounding @belowkey and @artsonist_art raises questions about art, ownership, expression, intention and what happens after a work leaves an artist’s hands. Those questions don’t always have simple answers. And maybe they shouldn’t. Our manifesto says “everyone knows your name and anyone can get their fifteen minutes of fame.” Artists and collectors alike. Different perspectives, different reactions, different voices — all part of the culture. For us, this is the mission in action. We created a space where art sparks connection, conversation and sometimes even disagreement, where artists and collectors alike have a voice and the experience extends beyond our walls. ONE YEAR. 52 WEEKS. 52 SHOWS. One year ago, September 18, 2025, @sacsix and @squedado opened Studio6 Gallery on Rivington Street, with an ambitious idea: change the traditional gallery model, create opportunities for artists and help bring art culture back to NYC’s Lower East Side. One year later, we did exactly what we set out to do — and then some. At exactly midnight on January 1, we kicked off 2026 with what we called the "First Art Show of The Year Anywhere In the World." That moment captured what Studio6 is about: no time to wait, move fast, take chances, create opportunities and keep pushing forward. Over the past year, we’ve welcomed first-time artists and internationally recognized artists. We’ve hosted 100+ artist open calls, all-women shows, student exhibitions and cultural celebrations. We’ve watched artists sell their first piece and people become collectors for the first time. But Studio6 became more than an art gallery. We’ve hosted birthdays, graduations, pool tournaments, singles events, stand-up comedy nights, corporate events, community gatherings, album releases, fashion shows and some unforgettable parties. We collaborated with our LES neighbors, including @economycandy and @kalye.nyc We celebrated @beastieboyssquare anniversary and had countless after-show parties with our friends @sadieswardnyc We built partnerships with @genart and the @civilianhotel that opened entirely new creative doors. We even launched our own beer brand — The Sixer, with @wildeastbrewing — and Studio6 Gallery appeared on @bravotv in a @bravonextgen episode. We’ve made mistakes. We’ve learned. We’ve evolved. And we’ve had a lot of fun doing it. None of this happens without the artists who trusted us, the collectors who supported them, the friends who kept showing up, our partners who believed in our ideas and the Lower East Side community that welcomed us.
