Saving rock'n'roll...one gig at a time! Thanks to everyone who came down and transformed the Night Owl into the grooviest thing since 1968 on Friday night, especially @jonmojomills for the perfect scene setting soundtrack. As Z-man Barzell would say: "This is my happening, and it freaks me out!" #partylikeits1968 taken in Ollex Inn London by @studio68mod

The news this week that parent company Modella Capital is closing 150 branches of 'TG Jones' sounds the loudest alarm bell yet for print media. Amazing periodicals such as @shindig_magazine @vivelerockmag @jonmojomills @uncut_magazine @mojo4music and countless others are treasured finds there every month. 'Smiths' has been, of course, the portal for every teenage reading experience for generations. Just announced, The Studio 68! will be supporting The Long Ryders at The Piper in Hastings on Friday 16th October 2026.

Tickets are on-sale now from: thepiper.club/events

The Long Ryders, pioneers of the Alt-Country movement, return to the stage with the same fiery spirit that first made them legends. Fusing punk energy with country-rock harmonies, the band bridged the gap between Gram Parsons and today’s Americana heroes, influencing acts such as Wilco, The Jayhawks, and Uncle Tupelo.

Rising from the Los Angeles scene, The Long Ryders made their mark with acclaimed albums including Native Sons and State of Our Union, featuring the alt-radio classic “Looking for Lewis & Clark.” Their sound—12-string guitars, heartfelt songwriting, and a raw, roots-driven edge—helped define a generation and inspire a movement.

Following their celebrated 2019 release Psychedelic Country Soul, the band returned to the studio to craft September November, their first album since the passing of bassist Tom Stevens. Still a thrilling live force, The Long Ryders deliver shows packed with history, heart, and unrelenting energy. Saddle up—don’t miss the ride.

📣 THE STUDIO 68 & DANI TURNER to support THE LONG RYDERS on Friday 16 October 2026!

🎟 Tickets on sale now via The Piper site.

THE STUDIO 68! Imagine Janis Joplin jamming with the Small Faces, down at Withnail and I’s place. Charles Bukowski is manning the bar, Malcolm McLaren is handling the guest list, and Keith’n’Anita are canoodling in a corner.

Now you’re getting a sense of the weird and wonderful world of The Studio 68!. A high-octane rock ’n’ roll band formed in North London steeped in late ’60s and early ’70s influences, they were regenerated, Doctor-Who style, in 2023 as a rollicking rock ’n’ roll outfit fronted by powerhouse lead vocalist Dani Turner.

🍂 Pioneers of the Alt-Country movement, The Long Ryders return to the stage with the same fiery spirit that first made them legends.
