This room is not “bathroom.” This is identity with plumbing.

This is what happens when genuine materials enter the room and politely refuse to be ignored.

A San Antonio Hill Country modern retreat where clean lines meet organic warmth — because modern does not have to mean cold, sterile, or “did anyone actually live here?”

A floating vanity sits in front of the glass shower enclosure, creating this layered, architectural moment that feels open, intentional, and quietly luxurious. Inside the shower, the tub becomes part of the experience — with a ceiling-mounted tub filler that lets water fall from above like a private Hill Country rainstorm.

And then there’s the shower niche: real agate stone.

Not a basic tile accent. Not a safe little detail. Agate. Natural, sculptural, and full of movement — bringing earth, texture, and soul into a sleek modern space.

This is what happens when organic materials keep modern design from feeling cold. Stone, glass, water, wood tones, and restraint all doing their job beautifully.

The floating vanity is placed directly in front of the window, with a sculptural sunburst mirror layered over the glass — a bold little design move that makes the whole room feel intentional, luminous, and just a touch glamorous.

With the flip of a switch, it transforms from clear to frosted, giving you natural light when you want it and privacy when you need it. No bulky treatments. No visual clutter. Just smart design doing what smart design does best.

I’m honored to be the beta tester, and a part of the Founders Circle of designers helping introduce and promote a new agentic AI app created specifically for interior designers and creative business owners.

Developed by Shuru and brought to life through the vision of Leslie Carothers of Savour Partnership, this platform is designed to automate and streamline the back end of design firms — the systems, admin, follow-ups, workflows, and tedious tasks that can quietly eat up so much of our time.

And let’s talk about agentic AI, because this is where things get exciting.

Generative AI creates content when you prompt it: copy, images, ideas, drafts, and inspiration.

Agentic AI goes a step further. It can act more like an intelligent assistant — helping plan, execute, organize, automate, and move tasks forward with less manual effort.

That difference matters.

As designers, our greatest value is not buried in inboxes, spreadsheets, scheduling, or repetitive back-end work. Our magic is in the creative vision, the client experience, the problem-solving, the beauty, the feeling, the transformation.

I’m invited to participate in many wonderful things, but this is the one I am most excited about because I truly believe it has the potential to change our industry.

Before: a kitchen waiting for its point of view.
After: a modern Art Deco statement designed with rhythm, restraint, and unmistakable presence.

For this remodel, we wanted the kitchen to feel architectural — not simply updated. The new white oak cabinetry brings warmth and dimension, creating a tailored backdrop with depth and movement. Against it, a bold graphic backsplash composed of multiple marbles becomes the room’s defining art piece: structured, dramatic, and quietly glamorous.

Brass accents add just the right amount of luminosity, giving the space that Art Deco nod without slipping into nostalgia. The result is a kitchen that feels modern, collected, and designed to endure.

This is what we love about transformation: the best remodels do not erase a home’s potential. They reveal it.

Designed for clients who do not follow trends — they set the tone.

From Portugal to my Art Deco bathroom — and baby, she was worth the trip!

This custom brass pocket door with walnut inlay is one of those details that changes the whole atmosphere of a space. Rich, sculptural, and just dramatic enough. Even better, my cabinet maker built a beautiful arched portal into the room and a hidden pocket behind the custom cabinetry so that the door it disappears completely into the millwork when it’s wide open.

That hidden reveal? Pure magic.
That brass and walnut combination? Timeless.
That Art Deco moment? Exactly what the room was asking for.

Proof that the soul of a space lives in the details. 🤎✨
